Multiple Mechanisms in Proton-Induced Nucleon Removal at ∼ 100 MeV/Nucleon

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(14O, X), E ∼ 100 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products. 13N, 13O; deduced inclusive σ and parallel momentum distributions for proton-induced single proton- and neutron-removal reactions from the neutron-deficient 14O nucleus with large Fermi-surface asymmetry. New narrow resonances observed in the unbound nucleus 15F

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(14O, p), E=7.64 MeV/nucleon; 1H(14O, 2p), E=7.42 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products Ep, Ip, Eγ, Iγ, protons angular distributions, pp-coin, γγ-coin, pγ-coin; deduced σ(θ), resonances properties of 14O+p system - energy, spin and width, spectroscopic factors, major amplitudes of channels. 15F; deduced levels, J, π, configurations. Data has been analyzed and interpreted in the framework of the Gamow shell model (GSM) with the coupled-channel representation (GSMCC). Beam provided by SPIRAL1 facility (GANIL). Detectors: MUST2 (telescope composed of DSSD and CsI array) for (14O, p) reaction and MUGAST array (MUST2+VAMOS magnetic spectrometer+AGATA HPGE-array).

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(37Ca, d), (38Ca, t)36Ca, E≈50 MeV/nucleon, [37,38Ca secondary beams incident on CRYPTA hydrogen target from 9Be(40Ca, X), E=95 MeV/nucleon primary reaction, followed by separation of fragments using LISE3 spectrometer at GANIL facility]; measured outgoing 36Ca ions, E(d), I(d), E(t), I(t), (36Ca)(37Ca)-coin, (36Ca)(38Ca)-coin, (36Ca)d-coin, (36Ca)t-coin, (36Ca)p-coin, (36Ca)2p-coin, using zero-degree detection (ZDD) system for 36Ca, multiwire detectors CATS array for 37Ca, six MUST2 telescopes with double-sided Silicon strip detector (DSSSD) and 16 CsI crystals for deuterons, tritons and protons. 36Ca; deduced levels, proton resonances, J, π, 0+ as the first excited state, L-transfers, spectroscopic factors, configurations and their amplitudes, mirror energy differences (MEDs) of levels in 36Ca and 36S. DWBA analysis. Comparison with shell-model calculations with configuration interaction (SM CI) using the sd-pf valence space, and with previous experimental results. 34Ar, 35K; deduced levels from the 2p decay of 7.84-MeV level in 36Ca. RADIOACTIVITY 75mCo(IT); 75Co(β-), (β-n)[from in-flight fission in 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation of fragments of interest using BigRIPS separator and ZeroDegree spectrometer (ZDS) at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, βγ- and βγγ-coin, half-life of 75mCo decay by (ion)γ(t) using active beam stopper WAS3ABi with double-sided silicon strips detectors (DSSSDs) for fragment and β detection and EURICA array of 12 clusters HPGe detectors for γ rays. 74,75Ni; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities of two transitions, configurations, β feedings, β-n feedings, logft values. 75Co; deduced lower limit of %β-n. 75mCo; deduced isomer, energy, J, π, transition multipolarity and half-life of the micro-sec isomer. Comparison with the large-scale shell-model calculations using PFSDG-U interaction in the pf-sdg space. Systematics of low-lying levels in 69,71,73,75Co.

Comparison of measured σ for Zn isotopes in this work, and for germanium, selenium, and krypton isotopes in other studies with predictions of the EPAX3 parametrization, LISE++ abrasion-ablation model using the HFB22 mass model and the AME2020 mass tables. Relevance to production of nuclei decaying by 2p radioactivity such as 54Zn.

Inelastic scattering of neutron-rich Ni and Zn isotopes off a proton target

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(72Ni, p'), E=271.0 MeV/nucleon; 1H(74Ni, p'), E=263.5 MeV/nucleon; 1H(76Zn, p'), E=275.5 MeV/nucleon; 1H(80Zn, p'), E=263.4 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 72,74Ni, 76,80Zn beams from 9Be(238U, X), E=345 MeV/nucleon primary reaction, followed by separation of fragments using BigRIPS separator]; measured reaction products, yields, Eγ, Iγ, particles, (particle)γ-coin, angular integrated proton inelastic scattering σ using MINOS target device, DALI2 array for γ detection and ZeroDegree spectrometer for particles at RIBF-RIKEN facility. 72,74Ni, 76,80Zn; deduced first 2+ and 4+ levels, and second 2+ levels in 72,74Ni; analyzed B(E2) values and matrix elements for the first 2+ states. Comparison with shell-model calculations, and with previous measurements. Systematics of β2 deformation parameters in 62Zn to 80Zn, and 54Ni to 74Ni isotopes. Comparison of experimental σ for inelastic scattering with calculations using Jeukenne-Lejeune-Mahaux (JLM) folding model with quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA). 58Ni(p, p), E=295, 250, 333 MeV; 58Ni(p, p'), E=178 MeV; analyzed σ(θ) data using the JLM reaction model and KD02 potential.

Calculated angular distributions for 68Ni(d, d') and 68Ni(α, α') by DWBA approach. Discussed systematics of isoscalar giant resonances for 56,58,60,62,64,68Ni.
