NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(238U, F), E=20 MeV/nucleon; 197Au(197Au, F), E=20 MeV/nucleon; analyzed experimental data obtained at NSCL-MSU using A1200 fragment separator; calculated isobaric yield distributions or cross sections, average Z/A versus A, mass distributions of projectile fission fragments, production cross sections and rates of accessible neutron-rich nuclides of Z=26-71 and N=26-116. Phenomenological deep-inelastic transfer model (DIT), and microscopic constrained molecular dynamics model (CoMD), with the statistical multifragmentation model (SMM) for the de-excitation or fission of the hot heavy projectile fragments. Comparison with experimental data. Relevance to r-process path and neutron dripline.
