Linking partial and quasi dynamical symmetries in rotational nuclei

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 156,158,160,162Gd, 160,162,164Dy, 164,166Er; calculated ground-state fluctuations for the extended consistent-Q formalism (ECQF) Hamiltonian in even-even rare earth nuclei; deduced empirical formalism for linkage between O(6) partial dynamical symmetry (PDS) and SU(3) quasi-dynamical symmetry (QDS) in rotational nuclei; identified nuclei satisfying both symmetries. 160Gd; calculated levels, J, π, bands with the IBM approach using the ECQF Hamiltonian, and compared with experimental spectrum. Quantum number fluctuations and the intrinsic state formalism are used within the framework of interacting boson model.
