Reinvestigation of 222U in high-precision digital α-decay spectroscopy: Solution to the reduced decay-width anomaly

RADIOACTIVITY 222U(α) [from 186W(40Ar, 4n), E=80 MeV, followed by separation of fragments using SHANS separator at HRIFL-Lanzhou]; 218Th, 214Ra(α)[from 222U α decay chain]; measured Eα, Iα, evaporation residues (ER)-α correlations, T1/2 using DSSD detectors; deduced reduced α-decay width, and analyzed using NpNn scheme. 218Ac, 219Th, 220Pa(α); measured Eα, and T1/2. Systematics of reduced α-decay widths for g.s. to g.s. α transitions in even-even Z=84-92, N≥126 isotopes as function of NpNn. Comparison with previous experimental results.

Evidence for spherical-oblate shape coexistence in 87Tc

Jπ, intensity ratios in different channels, configurations, spherical behavior. Comparison with shell model and total Routhian surface calculations, and with their previous results reported in 2021Li40 (Phys. Rev. C 104, L021302).

Configurations of the low-lying states in 146Eu

RADIOACTIVITY 146mEu(IT) [from 124Sn(27Al, 5n), E=127 MeV, followed by mass-separation of evaporation residues (ERs) using the SHANS separator at the Sector-Focusing Cyclotron (SFC) of HIRFL-Lanzhou]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, isomer and level T1/2 by γ(t) and γγ(t) fast-timing method using three LaBr3(Ce) detectors, one coaxial and one Clover HPGe detectors, and analyzed using mirror symmetric centroid difference (MSCD) method. 146Eu; deduced levels, J, π, T1/2 of 6- levels and a 9+ isomer, multipolarities, upper limits of multipole mixing ratios, B(M1), spherical configurations. 146Sm; measured level T1/2 of the first 2+ state as a test case for measurements of short half-lives for levels in 146Eu. Comparison with shell model calculations using several different effective interactions, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of levels and B(M1) values in N=83 isotones 142Pr, 144Pm, 146Eu.

Determining impact parameters of heavy-ion collisions at low-intermediate incident energies using deep learning with convolutional neural networks

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 124Sn(124Sn, X), E=50, 70, 100 MeV/nucleon; calculated absolute transverse and longitudinal momentum per nucleon of all possible charged particles in exit channel with constrained molecular dynamics (CoMD) model, impact parameter values by convolutional neural network (CNN). Events generated by CoMD are used as input for CNN training. Comparison to impact parameter values obtained using the conventional methods with the impact-parameter sensitive observables.

Observation of 6He + t cluster states in 9Li

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(9Li, X), E=32.7 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 9Li beam from 9Be(12C, X), E=53.7 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation and purification of fragments using RIBLL1 at HIRFL-Lanzhou facility]; measured reaction products and outgoing charged particles, angular distributions of charged particles using Si telescope and CsI(Tl) scintillator array. 9Li; deduced resonant states, relative energy spectrum of 6He+t cluster states from the decay of 9Li resonances, differential breakup cross-section, isoscalar monopole transition matrix element M(IS0) and monopole strength B(IS0), energy-weighted sum rule (EWSR) for the transferred angular momentum. DWBA and CDCC analysis of angular distributions, and GCM calculations for the cluster states in 9Li. Relevance to differences between the triton and α clusters, and impact of these differences on the formation of nuclei containing triton clusters.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(12C, X), E=50 MeV/nucleon; calculated differential σ(θ, E(α)), average in-plane momentum per nucleon as a function of the scaled rapidity, flow as a function of atomic number (Z=1-6), time evolution of flow for Z=1-6 fragments. 40Ca(40Ca, X), E=35 MeV/nucleon; Ni(Ar, X), (Ni, X), E=32-95 MeV/nucleon; calculated flow for proton, α, Z=3-5 and Z≥6 fragments as function of incident energy. Improved antisymmetrized molecular dynamics model with Fermi motion (AMD-FM) and the statistical decay code Gemini in the nucleon-nucleon collision process. Comparison with experimental data from GANIL and Texas A and M facilities. Investigated experimentally observed abnormal α transverse flow behavior in heavy-ion collisions at intermediate energies.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 58Ni(54Fe, 3n2p)107Te, E=195 MeV; 54Fe(58Ni, 3n2p)107Te, E=215 MeV; measured recoils, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, (particle)γ-coin using EUROGAM array of 43 Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors and recoiling fusion evaporation products separated by RITU separator and implanted into two double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSDs) of the GREAT spectrometer in 58Ni(54Fe, 3n2p) experiment, and using Jurogam III array of 15 Eurogam and 24 Euroball clover escape-suppressed Ge detectors, with evaporation products separated by MARA separator and implanted into the DSSD for the 54Fe(58Ni, 3n2p) experiment, both performed at the University of Jyvaskyla Accelerator Laboratory using recoil-decay tagging technique. 107Te; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, νh11/2 band. Comparison with large-scale shell-model calculations and total Routhian surface calculations. Systematics of νh11/2 bands and level structures in 107,109,111,113,115,117,119Te.

Comparison with quantum statistical model, and with previous experimental data.
