RADIOACTIVITY 195Os(β-)[ionized 195Os using laser system from 198Pt(136Xe, X), E=9.4 MeV/nucleon at the KEK isotope separation system (KISS) at RIKEN RIBF facility]; measured Eβ, Iβ, Eγ, Iγ, x rays, βγ- and γγ-coin, half-life of 195Os decay using a multisegmented proportional gas counter (MSPGC) for β radiation, and four clover HPGe detectors for γ rays. 195Ir; deduced levels, J, π, Iβ feedings, logft. 195Os; deduced spin and parity of the ground state. Systematics of half-lives of 195,196,197,198,199,200,201,202,203,204,205,206Os, and comparison with theoretical predictions.

First direct observation of isomeric decay in neutron-rich odd-odd 186Ta

RADIOACTIVITY 186Ta(β-), 186mTa(IT)[from W(136Xe, X), E=7.2 MeV/nucleon, followed by laser ionization and mass separation at the KEK Isotope Separation System (KISS) of RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, half-lives of decays of 186Ta and neutral 186mTa from γ-decay curves. 186Ta; deduced levels, J, π, E3 multipolarity of the 161-keV isomeric transition from a comparison of measured half-life of the neutral isomer with previous measurements of the ionized isomeric state of 186Ta using the Experimental Storage Ring at GSI Darmstadt, no evidence found for the β decay mode of the 186Ta isomer.

NUCLEAR MOMENTS 196,197,198Ir; measured hyperfine structure (HFS) spectra using in-gas-cell laser resonance ionization spectroscopy at the KEK Isotope Separation System at RIBF-RIKEN facility; deduced spins for the ground states, magnetic dipole moments, mean-square charge radii, isotope shifts, β2 deformation parameters. Comparison with theoretical calculations based on the strong coupling model. Comparison with previous experimental results. Systematics of quadrupole moments, magnetic dipole moments, mean-square charge radii and β2 deformation parameters for 189,191,193,196,197,198Ir.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 198Pt(136Xe, X)196Ir/197Ir/198Ir, E=10.75 MeV/nucleon; measured extraction yields, Eβ, half-lives of the decays of 196Ir, 197Ir and 198Ir. The Ir isotopes produced in multi-nucleon transfer reaction. Comparison with previous experimental half-lives.

Deexcitation γ-ray transitions from the long-lived Iπ = 13/2+ metastable state in 195Os

RADIOACTIVITY 195mOs(IT)[from 198Pt(136Xe, X), E=9.4 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation of fragments using KEK Isotope Separation System (KISS) at RIBF-RIKEN facility, and laser excitation of 195Os isomer]; measured Eγ, Iγ, ce, γγ- and (ce)γ-coin, neutral atom T1/2 of the 47-s, (13/2+) isomer from x-ray and γ-ray decay curves using multi-segmented proportional gas counter (MSPGC) for β, x-rays and conversion electrons, and four HPGe clover detectors for γ radiation. 195Os; deduced levels, J, π; discussed multipolarity of the low-energy γ transition from the isomer. Comparison with previous measurement of the 195mOs isomer and half-life of the fully-stripped isomer using the ESR at GSI. Comparison with experimental results for level schemes from the decays of the 13/2+ isomers in 197Pt and 199Hg.

Comparison with previous experimental data. A=195-206, Z=76; comparison of measured β-decay half-lives with theoretical results from DF3, FRDM, and KUTY models.

In-gas-cell laser spectroscopy of the magnetic dipole moment of the N ≈ 126 isotope 199Pt

NUCLEAR MOMENTS 199Pt, 199mPt; measured magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments, isotope shifts, mean-square charge radii by hyperfine splitting of the 48.792-nm transition using the in-gas-cell laser ionization spectroscopy (IGLIS), and the half-lives of the ground state and the isomer; discussed configurations. 192,196,198Pt; measured mean-square charge radii relative to that of 194Pt by hyperfine structure. Pt isotopes produced in 198Pt(136Xe, X), E=10.75 MeV/nucleon reaction using the on-line KEK Isotope Separation System (KISS) at RIKEN. Comparison with previous experimental results, and with self-consistent Bogoliubov (HFB) model calculations. Systematics of magnetic dipole moments of 5/2- and 13/2+ states in 193,195,197,199Pt and 197,199Hg. Systematics of mean square charge radius and quadrupole deformation in A=178-199 Pt isotopes.
