New precise half-life measurement for the superallowed β+ emitter 34Ar

RADIOACTIVITY 34Ar(β+) [from 1H(35Cl, 2n), E=30 MeV/nucleon at the K500 superconducting cyclotron of Texas A and M University, followed by separation of fragments using the Momentum Achromat Recoil Spectrometer (MARS)]; measured Eβ, decay time spectrum, precise T1/2 of 34Ar decay using 4π proportional gas counter; deduced ft value for the superallowed β transition. Data analyzed as a linked parent-daughter pair. Discussed uncertainty budget. Comparison with previous experimental results.
