Production of the most neutron-deficient Zn isotopes by projectile fragmentation of 78Kr

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(78Kr, X)54Zn/55Zn/56Zn, E=345 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, production σ using BigRIPS separator at the RIBF-RIKEN facility. Comparison of measured σ for Zn isotopes in this work, and for germanium, selenium, and krypton isotopes in other studies with predictions of the EPAX3 parametrization, LISE++ abrasion-ablation model using the HFB22 mass model and the AME2020 mass tables. Relevance to production of nuclei decaying by 2p radioactivity such as 54Zn.

RADIOACTIVITY 159,161Pm(IT)[from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation of fission fragments using the BigRIPS in-flight separator and implantation of fragments in WAS3ABi setup at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, half-lives of the isomers by γ(t) using the EURICA array of 12 EUROBALL clusters. 159,161Pm; deduced high-spin levels, J, π, bands, 2-quasiparticle Nilsson configurations for the isomeric states, and 3-quasiparticle configurations from theory, existence of the deformed N=98 subshell gap in odd-mass nuclei. Comparison with projected shell model (PSM) calculations. Discussed modification of strength of spin-orbit interactions in standard Nilsson parameters for neutron-rich rare-earth nuclei around A=165.

Comparison with theoretical calculations using the JQMD+GEM and INCL+GEM codes.

β-decay half-lives of 55 neutron-rich isotopes beyond the N = 82 shell gap

RADIOACTIVITY 134,135,136,137,138,139Sn, 134,135,136,137,138,139,140,141,142Sb, 137,138,139,140,141,142,143,144Te, 140,141,142,143,144,145,146I, 142,143,144,145,146,147,148Xe, 145,146,147,148,149,150,151Cs, 148,149,150,151,152,153Ba, 151,152,153,154,155La(β-)[from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation of fragments using BigRIPS separator at RIBF-RIKEN]; measured β and γ radiations, half-lives by (implant)β and (implant)βγ correlations using the Wide range Active Silicon-Strip Stop per Array for Beta and ion (WAS3ABi) detection system and Euroball RIKEN Cluster Array (EURICA) of 84 Ge cluster detectors. Comparison with previously available experimental half-lives, and with theoretical calculations using FRDM+QRPA, KTUY+GT2, RHB+pn-RQRPA, and DF+CQRPA models. 141Te(β-); calculated half-life and Gamow-Teller strengths using FRDM+QRPA(2019) model, and compared with experimental data. Discussed and calculated effects of new half-life data on r-process abundance.

Comparison with theoretical deformation parameter β2 versus mass plot using double-folding model (DFM) calculation combined with antisymmetrized molecular dynamics (AMD) calculation. 37Mg; deduced deformed halo effect from observed enhanced cross section, comparison with DFM calculation based on the deformed Woods-Saxon (DWS) model; collapse of N=28 magic shell for neutrons.
