Nature of seniority symmetry breaking in the semimagic nucleus 94Ru

Examination of nuclear chirality with a magnetic moment measurement of the I=9 isomeric state in 128Cs

NUCLEAR MOMENTS 128mCs; measured Eγ, γ-intensity oscillation spectra, oscillating ratios, Larmor frequency of precession with a magnetic field of about 0.7 T, time differential perturbed angular distribution (TDPAD) of γ rays from the isomer using 122Sn(10B, 4n)128Cs, E=55 MeV reaction at the Tandem accelerator of IPN Orsay; deduced g-factor and configuration of the isomeric 9+ bandhead of the yrast states. Comparison with theoretical predictions for shell-model configurations, and chiral interpretation of 128Cs nucleus as a composition of the odd proton, odd neutron, and even-even core with their angular momentum vectors.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 128Cs; calculated levels, J, π, bands, B(E2), B(M1), g factors using quantum angular momentum algebra and semiclassical calculations, in the framework of many-particle-many-hole Particle Triaxial Rotor Model. Evidence for the existence of chiral critical frequency, and absence of chiral doublet members for J<13 states.

RADIOACTIVITY 137Te(β-), (β-n)[from 235U(n, F), E=thermal at the high flux reactor of Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), followed by separation of fragments using LOHENGRIN separator]; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, βγ-coin using two clover Ge detectors surrounded by BGO anti-Compton shields, and a coaxial HPGe detector for γ radiation, and plastic scintillators for β radiation. 137I; deduced levels, J, π, β feedings, logft, shell-model configurations and wave function amplitudes. 136I; deduced one level at 87.3 keV through the observation of g.s. transition. 137Te; measured T1/2 of its decay by time distribution of β-decay events; estimated lower limit of %β-n or Pn decay mode. Comparison of level structure of 137I with theoretical shell-model (SM) calculations.

Comparison with previous experimental data, and with large scale shell-model (LSSM) calculations using N3LOP (SM-I) and Kuo-Herling (SM-II) effective interactions. Systematics of B(E2) for yrast states of 134,136,138Te and 135,137,139I.

Distorted-wave impulse approximation (DWIA) analysis for cross sections. Comparison with shell model calculations using the Lenzi-Nowacki-Poves-Sieja LNPS and PFSDG-U interactions, and with previous experimental data.

Comparison with previously available experimental half-lives, and with theoretical calculations using FRDM+QRPA, KTUY+GT2, RHB+pn-RQRPA, and DF+CQRPA models. 141Te(β-); calculated half-life and Gamow-Teller strengths using FRDM+QRPA(2019) model, and compared with experimental data. Discussed and calculated effects of new half-life data on r-process abundance.

Comparison with shell-model calculations, and with previous measurements. Systematics of β2 deformation parameters in 62Zn to 80Zn, and 54Ni to 74Ni isotopes. Comparison of experimental σ for inelastic scattering with calculations using Jeukenne-Lejeune-Mahaux (JLM) folding model with quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA). 58Ni(p, p), E=295, 250, 333 MeV; 58Ni(p, p'), E=178 MeV; analyzed σ(θ) data using the JLM reaction model and KD02 potential.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(108Sn, 108Sn'), E=142 MeV; 197Au(112Sn, 112Sn'), E=147 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin following projectile Coulomb excitation. 108,112Sn levels deduced excitation B(E2), core polarization features. Comparison with large-scale shell model predictions.
