NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(28Ne, 28Ne), E=53.5 MeV/nucleon; 1H(30Ne, 30Ne), E=44.0 MeV/nucleon; 1H(32Mg, 32Mg), E=58.9 MeV/nucleon; 1H(34Mg, 34Mg), E=51.1 MeV/nucleon; 1H(36Mg, 36Mg), E=44.5 MeV/nucleon; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, magnetic rigidity, time of flight using accelerator complex, RIPS separator at RIBF-RIKEN facility. 28,30Ne, 32,34,36Mg; deduced levels, J, π, production σ for first 2+ states; deduced (p, p') deformation lengths and β2 deformation parameter, quadrupole collectivity around N=20 region. Systematics of deformation lengths in N=12-24 Mg, Ne and Si nuclei in the region of island-of inversion nuclei. Comparison with shell model calculations using AMPGCM and SDPF-M.
