NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(70Ni, 2p), E=252 MeV/nucleon; 1H(72Ni, 2p), E=241 MeV/nucleon; 1H(74Ni, 2p), E=234 MeV/nucleon, [secondary beams from 9Be(238U, X), E=345 MeV/nucleon]; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, inclusive and exclusive σ using the DALI2 NaI(Tl) detector array for γ detection, the MINOS time-projection-chamber for p detection, the BigRIPS separator for secondary beam identification, and ZeroDegree spectrometer for reaction product identification at RIBF-RIKEN. 69,71,73Co; deduced levels, J, π, configurations, half-life estimates of three low energy transitions in 69Co. Distorted-wave impulse approximation (DWIA) analysis for cross sections. Comparison with shell model calculations using the Lenzi-Nowacki-Poves-Sieja LNPS and PFSDG-U interactions, and with previous experimental data.

Prominence of Pairing in Inclusive (p, 2p) and (p, pn) Cross Sections from Neutron-Rich Nuclei

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(96Kr, np)95Kr, E ∼ 250 MeV/nucleon; analyzed available data for fifty-five inclusive single nucleon-removal σ; deduced systematically higher cross sections are found for proton removal from nuclei with an even number of protons as compared to odd-proton number projectiles for a given neutron separation energy.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(72Ni, p'), E=271.0 MeV/nucleon; 1H(74Ni, p'), E=263.5 MeV/nucleon; 1H(76Zn, p'), E=275.5 MeV/nucleon; 1H(80Zn, p'), E=263.4 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 72,74Ni, 76,80Zn beams from 9Be(238U, X), E=345 MeV/nucleon primary reaction, followed by separation of fragments using BigRIPS separator]; measured reaction products, yields, Eγ, Iγ, particles, (particle)γ-coin, angular integrated proton inelastic scattering σ using MINOS target device, DALI2 array for γ detection and ZeroDegree spectrometer for particles at RIBF-RIKEN facility. 72,74Ni, 76,80Zn; deduced first 2+ and 4+ levels, and second 2+ levels in 72,74Ni; analyzed B(E2) values and matrix elements for the first 2+ states. Comparison with shell-model calculations, and with previous measurements. Systematics of β2 deformation parameters in 62Zn to 80Zn, and 54Ni to 74Ni isotopes. Comparison of experimental σ for inelastic scattering with calculations using Jeukenne-Lejeune-Mahaux (JLM) folding model with quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA). 58Ni(p, p), E=295, 250, 333 MeV; 58Ni(p, p'), E=178 MeV; analyzed σ(θ) data using the JLM reaction model and KD02 potential.
