Experiments aimed at search for α-gas states in 12C, 16O, 20Ne, 24Mg, 28Si. Results described by a hybrid of sequential decays and multiparticle breakup mechanisms, as no signatures for α condensation observed. Comparison of measured yields to the extended Hauser-Feshbach (EHF), and comparison of 7-α particle states to Fermi breakup model predictions.
