γ-ray emission in proton-induced nuclear reactions on natC and Mylar targets over the incident energy range, Ep = 30 - 200 MeV. Astrophysical implications

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C, 16O, 24Mg, 28Si, 56Fe(p, X), E=30-200 MeV; measured reaction products; deduced γ-ray production σ. The K = 200 separated sector cyclotron of iThemba LABS using a high-energy resolution, high-efficiency detection array composed of 8 Compton-suppressed clover detectors comprising 32 HP-Ge crystals for recording the γ-ray energy spectra.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS C(α, γ)10B/11B/12B/11C/12C/13C/14N/15N/15O, E=50, 60, 75, 90 MeV; Mg(α, γ)16O/20Ne/21Ne/21Na/22Na/23Na/23Mg/24Mg/25Mg/26Mg/26Al, E=50, 60, 75, 90 MeV; Si(α, γ)20Ne/22Ne/23Na/24Mg/25Mg/26Mg/26Al/27Al/28Si/29Si/30Si/30P/31P, E=50, 60, 75, 90 MeV; Fe(α, γ)52Cr/54Cr/51Mn/53Mn/54Mn/53Fe/54Fe/55Fe/56Fe/56Co/57Co, E=50, 60, 75, 90 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ using three HPGe detectors and a LaBr3 scintillation detector at the center for proton therapy of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) in 2015 and 2016; deduced production σ(E) for γ lines of various isotopes. Comparison with previous experimental data at other Eα incident energies, and with TALYS theoretical calculations.

Sub-threshold states in 19Ne relevant to 18F(p, α)15O

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 19F(3He, t)19Ne, E=25 MeV; measured E(t), I(t) using Enge Split-pole magnetic spectrometer, α and protons from the decay of resonant states in 19Ne, tα-coin, tp-coin, tα(θ), tp(θ) using an array of six double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSSDs) for α and protons at the ALTO tandem accelerator facility in Orsay. 19Ne; deduced levels, resonances, J, π, Γα/Γ branching ratios. 18F(p, α)15O, E(cm)<1.6 MeV; deduced astrophysical S-factor by R-matrix analysis, proton asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) for 1/2+ state. Comparison with predictions of generator coordinate method (GCM).

Comparison to theoretical predictions using the code TALYS, with modified optical model potential (OMP) parameters deformation parameters, and level density parameters. 24Mg(p, p'), E=49.5 MeV; 28Si(p, p'), E=65 MeV; 56Fe(p, p'), E=30, 65 MeV; analyzed σ(θ) data in literature using OPTMAN code; deduced optical potential model parameters, deformation parameters β2, β4 and γ. Comparison with γ-ray cross section data in literature. Discussed astrophysical implications of results of present experiment through TALYS calculation of γ-ray line emission spectra over the photon energy range of 0.1-10 MeV, expected to be generated in interactions of the low-energy cosmic rays (LECRs) in the inner Galaxy.

Discussed 7Li abundance and deficit Big-Bang nucleosynthesis (BBN).
