First spectroscopic study of odd-odd 78Cu

RADIOACTIVITY 78Ni(β-)[from 9Be(238U, X), E=345 MeV/nucleon]; measured Eγ, Iγ, βγ-coin, γγ-coin; deduced β-feeding, γ-transition intensities. 78Cu; deduced levels J, π, T1/2 of isomer state. Comparison with Monte Carlo shell model (MCSM) calculations. Nature of seniority symmetry breaking in the semimagic nucleus 94Ru

RADIOACTIVITY 95mPd(β+p)[from 9Be(124Xe, F), E=850 MeV/nucleon];measured Eγ, Iγ, Ep, Ip, γγ-coin, pγ-coin. 94Ru; deduced T1/2 of low-lying excited states, B(E2). Comparison to shell-model calculations. Ions were separated with FRS at GSI and implanted in the Advanced Implantation Detector Array (AIDA), composed of three double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSSDs) situated at the center of the DEcay SPECtroscopy (DESPEC) setup, comprised of a hybrid array of six triple cluster high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors and 36 LaBr3(Ce) detectors of the FAst TIMing Array (FATIMA).

Comparison to five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (5DCH) beyond-mean-field model and mapped IBM calculations. Beam delivered via the ZeroDegree spectrometer to the Euroball RIKEN Cluster Array (EURICA) at RIBF-RIKEN.

RADIOACTIVITY 75Ni(β-), (β-n)[from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by mass separation and identification of fragments of interest using the BigRIPS separator and ZeroDegree spectrometer, and implanted in WAS3ABi stopper at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured Eβ, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, (implants)β-correlations, (implants)βγ-coin using the EURICA array for γ detection, half-life and %β-n or Pn for the decay of 75Ni. 75Cu; deduced levels, J, π, Iβ, logft values. Comparison with Monte Carlo shell model (MCSM) calculations. 74Cu, 75,76,77,78Zn, 76,80,81Ga, 80,81Ge(β-); observed γ rays in spectral Fig. 1.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 75Cu; calculated levels, J, π. 75,77Cu; calculated occupation numbers of proton and neutron orbits, potential energy surfaces for different spin states. 69,71,73,75,77,79Cu; systematics of energies of the first 1/2- states and corresponding B(E2) values, energies and decay sequences of particle-core coupling states, intruder states. Fast-timing Measurements in 100Zr Using LaBr3(Ce) Detectors Coupled with Gammasphere

RADIOACTIVITY 252Cf(SF); measured 100Zr fission fragment 4+ state Eγ, Iγ, T1/2, fission partners fragments using Digital Gammasphere (DGS) acquisition with hybrid detector made of 51 HPGe from Gammasphere and 25 LaBr3(Ce) scintillators (part of UK NuSTAR Collaboration); deduced first excited state T1/2, deformation, quadrupole moment, B(E2), LaBr3(Ce) γ-γ matrix, DGS γ-γ matrix, centroid difference between delayed and anti-delayed time distributions. Results preliminary, the main aim was the feasibility study.

Experimental study of the lifetime and phase transition in neutron-rich 98, 100, 102Zr

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 235U(n, F), 241Pu(n, F), E=cold neutrons beam from PF1B, Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), Grenoble; measured Eγ, γγ-coin, half-lives of the first 2+, 4+ and 6+ levels by fast-timing technique using the EXILL-FATIMA array consisting of eight EXOGAM clovers and 16 LaBr3(Ce) scintillators; fast-timing coincidence events analyzed using method of mirror symmetric centroid difference (MSCD) and generalized centroid difference method (GCDM). 98,100,102Zr; deduced levels, B(E2). Comparison with Interacting Boson model and Monte-Carlo shell-model calculations, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of B(E2) values for the first 2+, 4+ and 6+ states in 96,98,100,102,104,106Zr.

RADIOACTIVITY 102Y(β-)[from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon]; measured Eγ, Iγ, energy-time matrices in coincidence with position-correlated β decays and 102Y ions, isomer half-life by βγγ(t) fast-timing method using BigRIPS spectrometer for ion separation, WAS3ABi system for ion and β detection and EURICA array for γ detection at RIBF-RIKEN facility. 102Zr; deduced levels, J, π, K for the isomer, B(E1), B(M1), Weisskopf hindrance factors, configuration for the isomer. Comparison with Weisskopf hindrance factors for the transitions from the decay of 4- isomer in 100Sr.

Low-lying structure and shape evolution in neutron-rich Se isotopes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(89Se, np), (91Br, 2p), (94Br, n2p), (95Br, 2p), E=270 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 89Se, 91,94,95Br beams from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon using BigRIPS fragment separator at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured particle spectra using time projection chamber (TPC) of the MINOS ensemble, and Doppler-corrected gamma spectra, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin using DALI2 array of 186 NaI(Tl) detectors. 88,90,92,94Se; deduced levels, J, π, triaxiality; calculated potential energy surfaces for g.s., first and second 2+ states. Comparison with self-consistent beyond-mean-field calculations using Gogny D1S interaction. Systematics of first 2+ states and E(first 4+)/E(first 2+) for N=50-60 even-A Zr, Sr, Kr, and Se isotopes.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 134Te, 135I; calculated levels, J, π, B(E2) by large-scale shell-model calculations; deduced large two-body component of the E2 operator, whereas small energy shifts due to the three-body component of the effective interaction.
