Spectroscopic quadrupole moments in 124Xe

NUCLEAR REACTIONS W(124Xe, 124Xe), E=4.03, 4.11 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, recoil nuclei, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. 124Xe; deduced levels, J, π, rotational bands, transition matrix elements, B(E2), spectroscopic quadrupole moments. Coulomb excitation analysis performed with GOSIA. Data confirms that O(6) symmetry is substantially broken in 124Xe and point on prolate axially deformed nature of the ground state band. Systematic of spectroscopic quadrupole moments for Sn, Te, Xe and Ba. VAMOS++ magnetic spectrometer with AGATA g-ray tracking array at GANIL.

Comparison with theoretical calculations using tilted axis cranking approach and the symmetry configuration mixing method with the Gogny D1S interaction. Discussed systematics of configurations, and octupole admixtures for the known bands in 109Te, 110Te and 111I.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 180,182,184,186,188Hg; calculated levels, J, π, rotational bands built on the first two 0+ states using the two-band mixing model, potential energy surfaces (PES) in (β2, γ) plane, single-proton and neutron energies as function of the deformation β2. Two state-of-the-art beyond mean-field calculations using the symmetry-conserving configuration-mixing (SCCM) approach for axial shapes and the five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (5DCH).

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(16O, αn), (16O, αp), E=60-70 MeV; measured charged particles by the 4π DIAMANT detector consisting of 80 CsI(Tl) scintillators, En, In using the NEUTRON WALL array of 50 liquid scintillators, Eγ, Iγ(θ), γγ-coin using γ-ray array EXOGAM of 10 Compton suppressed clovers of 4 segmented HPGe each; deduced γ transitions, levels, J, π, yrast, yrare bands, MED (Mirror Energy Differences) between 23Mg and 23Na up to high spin. 23Na, 23Mg; calculated levels, J, π; deduced MED in mirror nuclei; compared with ANTOINE shell model code calculations with two different NN interactions.

Comparison with shell model calculations using SDPF-U effective interaction, and with level structure in N=23 isotones 37Si and 41Ar. Systematics of first 7/2- and 11/2- states in 31,33,35,37,39,41S, 35,37,39,41,43,45Ar.

Pygmy dipole resonance in 140Ce via inelastic scattering of 17O

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 140Ce(17O, 17O'), E=340 MeV; measured scattered 17O particle spectra, Eγ, Iγ, (17O)γ-coin, σ as function of excitation energy in 140Ce, γ(θ) using AGATA-demonstrator array for γ rays and E-ΔE detectors for particles at LNL's PIAVE-ALPI accelerator facility. DWBA analysis for the pygmy dipole states using microscopically calculated form factors based on transition densities from RQRPA and optical potentials. 140Ce; deduced levels, J, π, 1- pygmy (PDR) states, isoscalar energy-weighted sum rule (ISEWSR), PDR strengths, isospin character of the dipole states. Comparison with experimental results from (γ, γ') and (α, α') studies.

Comparison with shell-model calculations by including a set of isovector isospin-nonconserving matrix elements.

RADIOACTIVITY 72Co(β-), (β-n), (β-2n), 73Co(β-n)[from 9Be(238U, F), E=345 MeV/nucleon using BigRIPS separator and ZeroDegree spectrometer at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured Eγ, Iγ, βγγ-coin, (72Co implants)β-correlations, half-lives of low-spin and high-spin activities of 72Co using WAS3ABi setup and EURICA array, level half-lives by fast-timing γγ(t) method. 72Ni; levels, J, π, β feedings, logft values, configurations. 70,71Ni; observed γ rays from β-delayed-neutron decay of 72Co. Comparison with previous experimental results, and with simple shell-model calculations including only neutron excitations across the fpg shells.
