Nature of seniority symmetry breaking in the semimagic nucleus 94Ru

RADIOACTIVITY 95mPd(β+p)[from 9Be(124Xe, F), E=850 MeV/nucleon];measured Eγ, Iγ, Ep, Ip, γγ-coin, pγ-coin. 94Ru; deduced T1/2 of low-lying excited states, B(E2). Comparison to shell-model calculations. Ions were separated with FRS at GSI and implanted in the Advanced Implantation Detector Array (AIDA), composed of three double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSSDs) situated at the center of the DEcay SPECtroscopy (DESPEC) setup, comprised of a hybrid array of six triple cluster high-purity germanium (HPGe) detectors and 36 LaBr3(Ce) detectors of the FAst TIMing Array (FATIMA).

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(238U, X)58Sc/60V/64V, E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation of fragments of interest using BigRIPS separator and ZeroDegree spectrometer at RIBF-RIKEN facility; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, delayed γ spectra, half-lives of nanosecond and microsec isomers using HPGe EUroball RIKEN Cluster Array (EURICA). 58Sc, 60,64V; deduced levels, new isomers, B(E2), B(M2); discussed possible spin-parity assignments for the isomers. Comparison with previous experimental data, and with shell-model predictions.

Half-life measurements in 164, 166Dy using γ-γ fast-timing spectroscopy with the ν-Ball spectrometer

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 164Dy(18O, 18O'), E=71, 76, 80 MeV pulsed beam; 164Dy(18O, 16O)166Dy, E=78 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, level half-lives by γγ(t) fast-timing triple coincidence method using ν-Ball with 24 HPGe clover detectors, ten coaxial HPGe detectors, and 20 LaBr3 detectors. 164,166Dy; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2), β2 and transition quadrupole moments. Comparison with values for 164Dy in the ENSDF database at NNDC.

Shape coexistence in neutron-deficient 188Hg investigated via lifetime measurements

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 158Gd(34S, 4n), E=165 MeV; 160Gd(34S, 6n), E=185 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, level half-lives by recoil-distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method using the GALILEO γ-ray spectrometer, Neutron Wall array, and GALILEO plunger device at the INFN-LNL facility. 188Hg; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2), transition quadrupole moments, β2, shape coexistence, and deformations for normal and intruder configurations. Comparison with two-band mixing model with beyond-mean-field approaches, and with previous experimental results for level lifetimes. Systematics of levels in yrast bands in N=96-114 even-even mercury isotopes, and those of mean-square charge radii for N=96-114 even-even Hg, Pb and Po isotopes.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 180,182,184,186,188Hg; calculated levels, J, π, rotational bands built on the first two 0+ states using the two-band mixing model, potential energy surfaces (PES) in (β2, γ) plane, single-proton and neutron energies as function of the deformation β2. Two state-of-the-art beyond mean-field calculations using the symmetry-conserving configuration-mixing (SCCM) approach for axial shapes and the five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (5DCH).

Coulomb excitation. 98Zr; deduced levels, upper limit of B(E2) for the first 2+ state. Comparison with shell model and Monte-Carlo shell model calculations, and with previous experimental values. Systematics of B(E2) values for the first 2+ states in 90,92,94,96,98,100,102,104,106Zr.

Comparison with simple single-j shell model calculation. 211Po; observed γ rays. 209,210Po, 208Pb, 209Bi; reaction products measured in coincidence with γ rays.
