Spectroscopic quadrupole moments in 124Xe

NUCLEAR REACTIONS W(124Xe, 124Xe), E=4.03, 4.11 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, recoil nuclei, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. 124Xe; deduced levels, J, π, rotational bands, transition matrix elements, B(E2), spectroscopic quadrupole moments. Coulomb excitation analysis performed with GOSIA. Data confirms that O(6) symmetry is substantially broken in 124Xe and point on prolate axially deformed nature of the ground state band. Systematic of spectroscopic quadrupole moments for Sn, Te, Xe and Ba. VAMOS++ magnetic spectrometer with AGATA g-ray tracking array at GANIL.

Examination of nuclear chirality with a magnetic moment measurement of the I=9 isomeric state in 128Cs

NUCLEAR MOMENTS 128mCs; measured Eγ, γ-intensity oscillation spectra, oscillating ratios, Larmor frequency of precession with a magnetic field of about 0.7 T, time differential perturbed angular distribution (TDPAD) of γ rays from the isomer using 122Sn(10B, 4n)128Cs, E=55 MeV reaction at the Tandem accelerator of IPN Orsay; deduced g-factor and configuration of the isomeric 9+ bandhead of the yrast states. Comparison with theoretical predictions for shell-model configurations, and chiral interpretation of 128Cs nucleus as a composition of the odd proton, odd neutron, and even-even core with their angular momentum vectors.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 128Cs; calculated levels, J, π, bands, B(E2), B(M1), g factors using quantum angular momentum algebra and semiclassical calculations, in the framework of many-particle-many-hole Particle Triaxial Rotor Model. Evidence for the existence of chiral critical frequency, and absence of chiral doublet members for J<13 states.

Probing isospin mixing with the giant dipole resonance in the 60Zn compound nucleus

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 32Si(28Si, X)60Zn*, E=86, 110 MeV; 32Si(30Si, X)62Zn*, E=75, 98 MeV; measured high-energy Eγ, Iγ using GALILEO array of 25 HPGe detectors and ten LaBr3(Ce) scintillators at the Tandem accelerator facility of INFN-Legnaro. 60,62Zn; deduced GDR parameters, Coulomb spreading widths, isospin mixing parameter at zero temperature and the isospin-symmetry-breaking correction for beta decay by analyzing experimental γ-spectra with statistical model calculations using a version of CASCADE code that included isospin formalism. Comparison of Coulomb spreading widths with the values for other mass regions deduced from GDR γ-decay measurements in other compound-nucleus reactions.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(66Zn, 66Zn'), E=240 MeV from the XTU-Tandem accelerator of INFN-Legnaro; measured Eγ, Iγ, scattered 66Zn particles, (66Zn)γ-coin, γ-ray yields, γ(θ), (66Zn)γ(θ) in safe Coulomb excitation using GALILEO spectrometer for γ radiation, and SPIDER array for 66Zn particles. 66Zn; deduced levels, J, π, Coulomb excitation yields, reduced E2, E3, and M1 matrix elements using GOSIA least-squares fitting analysis, B(E2), B(E3), B(M1), spectroscopic quadrupole moments for the first and second 2+ and the first 4+ states, quadrupole shape invariants and deformation parameters; calculated collective wave function contours for selected states in 66Zn, and potential energy surfaces for 64,66,68,70Zn in (β2, γ) plane. Comparison with extensive beyond-mean-field (BMF) and large-scale shell-model calculations with a variety of model spaces and interactions, and with results of previous experimental results. Systematics of low-lying states in 62,64,66,68,70Zn.

Comparison with shell-model calculations using the SDPF-M and EEdf1 interactions for all states. Systematics of low-energy levels in 30Mg, 32Si, 34S, 36Ar, 38Ca. Relevance to "island of inversion".

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 180,182,184,186,188Hg; calculated levels, J, π, rotational bands built on the first two 0+ states using the two-band mixing model, potential energy surfaces (PES) in (β2, γ) plane, single-proton and neutron energies as function of the deformation β2. Two state-of-the-art beyond mean-field calculations using the symmetry-conserving configuration-mixing (SCCM) approach for axial shapes and the five-dimensional collective Hamiltonian (5DCH).

Discussed feeding of the 0+ states by the transfer of neutrons mainly filling the N=40 subshell closure for the ground state.

Systematics of energies relative to a rigid rotor for the bands built on the Kπ=8- isomers in N=74 isotones: 128Xe, 130Ba, 132Ce, 134Nd, 136Sm, 138Gd. Comparison with particle-rotor model calculations.

Comparison with core-coupled model and shell model calculations. 238U(82Se, X)79Se/80Se/81Se/82Se/83Se/84Se/85Se/86Se/80Kr/81Kr/82Kr/83Kr/84Kr/85Kr/86Kr/87Kr/88Kr/89Kr/90Kr/91Kr/92Kr/93Kr, E=530 MeV; measured isotopic yields. RADIOACTIVITY 70Br(β+), (EC) [from 9Be(78Kr, X), E=345 MeV/nucleon at RIKEN's RILAC2-RRC-fRC-IRC-SRC acceleration system using BigRIPS separator and ZeroDegree spectrometer]; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, Eβ, half-life of the 9+ isomer by βγ(t), and 0+ ground state by (70Br)β(t), γγ-, and βγ-coin using Wide-Range Active Silicon Strip Stopper array for β and ion detection (WAS3ABi), and EURICA array for γ detection. 70Se; deduced levels, J, π, β feedings, logf Ft, bands, Ft value for the superallowed decay of 70Br. Comparison with Shell-model calculations using the PMMU and JUN45 interactions. Discussed test of the CVC hypothesis using the data in the present work.

Low-lying level structure of 56Cu and its implications for the rp process
