Spectroscopic quadrupole moments in 124Xe

NUCLEAR REACTIONS W(124Xe, 124Xe), E=4.03, 4.11 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products, recoil nuclei, Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. 124Xe; deduced levels, J, π, rotational bands, transition matrix elements, B(E2), spectroscopic quadrupole moments. Coulomb excitation analysis performed with GOSIA. Data confirms that O(6) symmetry is substantially broken in 124Xe and point on prolate axially deformed nature of the ground state band. Systematic of spectroscopic quadrupole moments for Sn, Te, Xe and Ba. VAMOS++ magnetic spectrometer with AGATA g-ray tracking array at GANIL.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 109Ag(72Zn, 72Zn'), E=2.85 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 72Zn beam from U(p, F), E=1.4 GeV primary beam using UCx target, resonant ionization laser ion Source, and High Resolution mass Separator at the REX-ISOLDE-CERN facility]; measured particle spectra using C-REX array of two annular double-sided silicon strip detectors (DSSSD), Doppler-corrected Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, σ(θ, E(level)) using Miniball array of eight six-fold segmented HPGe triple cluster detectors for γ radiation. 72Zn; deduced levels, Jπ, E2 matrix elements, B(E2), spectroscopic quadrupole moments for the first two 2+ states, first excited 0+ and first 4+ states using GOSIA-GOSIA2 analysis in multiple safe Coulomb excitation; calculated potential energy surface (PES) in (β, γ) planes for the g.s., first excited 0+ and 2+ states, and the 2+ state of the γ band in the PNAMP approach. Comparison to shell-model calculations using jj44c and JUN45 effective interactions, and to mean-field generator coordinate method (GCM) calculations. Systematics and theoretical predictions of B(E2) values for 62,64,66,68,70,72,74,76,78,80Zn for the first 2+ and 4+ states.

Lifetime measurements in the ground-state band in 104Pd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 96Zr(12C, 4n)104Pd, E=55 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, level T1/2 by recoil distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method and differential decay-curve method (DDCM) using 12 HPGe detectors and Cologne coincidence-plunger device at the FN tandem accelerator of the University of Cologne. 104Pd; deduced levels, J, π, T1/2 of levels up to 12+ in the g.s. yrast band, B(E2). Comparison with large-scale shell-model calculations (LSSM) with SR88MHJM interaction, and with available previous experimental values.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 96,98,100,102,104,106Pd; calculated energy(first 4+)/energy(first 2+), B(E2)(first 4+)/B(E2)(first 2+), excitation energies and B(E2) up to 10+ in the g.s. band. 104Pd; calculated Eγ and B(E2) for levels up to 26+ in the g.s. band, occupation numbers for first 8+, 10+ and 12+, and second 10+ levels. Large-scale shell-model calculations (LSSM) with SR88MHJM interaction. Comparison with available experimental data.

Data has been analyzed and interpreted in the framework of the Gamow shell model (GSM) with the coupled-channel representation (GSMCC). Beam provided by SPIRAL1 facility (GANIL). Detectors: MUST2 (telescope composed of DSSD and CsI array) for (14O, p) reaction and MUGAST array (MUST2+VAMOS magnetic spectrometer+AGATA HPGE-array).

Evidence for spherical-oblate shape coexistence in 87Tc

Quadrupole deformation of 130Xe measured in a Coulomb-excitation experiment

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 94Mo(130Xe, 130Xe'), E=4.195 MeV/nucleon from HIE-ISOLDE-CERN linear accelerator; measured projectile-and target-like particles using a segmented double-sided silicon strip detector (DSSSD), Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ) (particle)γ- and (particle)(particle)γ-coin using Miniball array of 23 HPGe detectors. Measured Coulomb excitation yields analyzed using GOSIA least-squares fitting code. 130Xe; deduced levels, J, π, E2 and M1 matrix elements, B(E2), B(M1), spectroscopic quadrupole moments (Q) for the first 2+ and 4+ states and second 2+ state, and shape parameters for the 0+ ground state. Comparison with previous experimental data, and with several theoretical model calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 130Xe; calculated levels, J, π using general Bohr Hamiltonian with the mean-field theory and Universal Nuclear Energy Density Functional (UNEDF0), shell-model with the GCN50:82 and SN100PN interactions, Davydov-Filippov and γ-soft phenomenological models; calculated quadrupole shape invariants for 0+ ground state and the first 2+ state using general Bohr Hamiltonian (GBH) model. Comparison with experimental data.

Microscopic structure of coexisting 0+ states in 68Ni probed via two-neutron transfer

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 3H(66Ni, p)68Ni, E=2.6 MeV/nucleon; measured Ep, Ip, Eγ, Iγ, pγ-coin, differential σ(θ) distributions of transfer to ground state, first excited 0+ and first 2+ states in 68Ni using the T-REX silicon particle detector array for light charged recoil detection and the Miniball detector array for γ detection at ISOLDE-CERN. 68Ni; deduced levels, L-transfer, neutron and proton average orbital occupancies of ground state, excited 0+ state, and the first 2+ state. DWBA analysis of angular distributions using the FRESCO code. Comparison with shell model calculations with the A3DA-m and the JJ44pna interaction. Discussed feeding of the 0+ states by the transfer of neutrons mainly filling the N=40 subshell closure for the ground state.

Structure of low-lying states in 140Sm studied by Coulomb excitation

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 94Mo(140Sm, 140Sm'), (140Sm, 94Mo'), E=2.85 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 140Sm beam from Ta(p, X), E=1.4 GeV reaction at ISOLDE-CERN using RILIS, REXTRAP and EBIS]; measured scattered 140Sm and 94Mo particles, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, γ-yields using MINIBALL array for γ rays and DSSSD detectors for particle detection, γ spectra with laser on and off, γ-ray angular distributions. 140Sm; deduced E2 matrix elements, B(E2), spectroscopic quadrupole moment for the first two 2+ and the first 4+ states using coupled channel code GOSIA and normalized to γ-ray yield for first 2+ state in 94Mo target, and to known half-life for the first 2+ in 140Sm. Comparison with theoretical calculations using beyond-mean-field model with Gogny D1S interaction, shell model, interacting boson approximation (IBA), and E(5) symmetry. Calculated potential energy surface in (β, γ) plane for 140Sm. 95Mo; measured Iγ yield for 3/2+ to 5/2+ ground-state transition.

Low-velocity transient-field technique with radioactive ion beams: g factor of the first excited 2+ state in 72Zn

NUCLEAR MOMENTS 72Zn; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, γγ(θ, H), precession angles, g factor using the transient-field (TF) technique and MINIBALL cluster Ge detectors at REX-ISOLDE-CERN facility. 72Zn beam of 2.94 MeV/nucleon was obtained from bombardment of UCx target with 1.4-GeV protons using RILIS ion source, REXTRAP, and EBIS ion source. Comparison with shell-model and triaxial beyond-mean-field calculations, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of g factors of first 2+ states in even-even N=32-66 Zn, Ge, Se, Kr and Sr isotopes.

Comparison with state-of-the-art beyond-mean-field calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 188,190,192,194,196,198Os; calculated particle number projected potential energy surfaces in (β2, γ) plane, level energies in the yrast bands using Gogny D1S interaction. State-of-the-art beyond-meanfield calculations. Comparison with experimental data.

Coulomb excitation, GOSIA analysis. 29,30Na; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2), B(M1), intruder admixtures, island of inversion. 104Pd; deduced level, excitation yield; used for normalizing data for 29Na. Comparison with previous experimental results, and with Monte Carlo shell model calculations.
