Comparison with structure of 123Te. Systematics of energies and half-lives of 8- and 7- states in 116,118,120,122,124I, and those of level energies in N=58-78, odd-A I and even-even Te and Xe isotopes.

Proton-neutron multiplet states and isomers in the odd-odd nucleus 122I

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 120Sn(7Li, 5n), E=58 MeV chopped beams from the 14UD tandem heavy-ion accelerator at the Australian National University; measured in-beam and out-of-beam Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO), half-lives of isomers by γ(t) and γγ(t) methods using CAESAR array with six Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors and two low-energy photon (LEP) detectors. 122I; deduced high-spin levels, isomers, J, π, multipolarities, bands, configurations; calculated quasiparticle energy diagrams as a function of quadrupole deformation parameter for neutrons and protons, Nilsson trajectories, total Routhian surface (TRS) energies, and total energy surfaces for 20- and 21- states by six quasiparticle alignments. Comparison with spherical shell model and deformed shell-model calculations. Comparison of angular frequency vs angular momentum plots for 122I and 124Cs for πh11/2νg7/2 configuration. Systematics of energies of 12+ and 14+ levels from πh11/2νh11/2 configuration in 116,118,120,122,124,126,128I, alignment plots in 118,120,122I, ground band states in 116,118Sn and high-spin states in 122I, excitation energies in the form of a liquid drop energy as a function of spin for 120,122I, and 152,154Ho.
