Structure of the low-lying states in 99, 101, 103, 105Pd

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 90,92,94Zr(12C, 3n), E=45 MeV; 96Zr(13C, 4n), E=55 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin. 94Zr(12C, 3n), E=56 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin with plunger device. 99,101,103,105Pd; deduced levels, J, π, B(M1), B(E2), T1/2 of excited states, multipolarity, δ, high-spin states, bands structure. Half-lives were determined by centroid shift method, deconvolution method and differential decay curve method (on case of 103Pd experiment with plunger). Comparison with rigid triaxial rotor plus particle model (RTRPM) calculations. RoSphere array comprised of 8 HPGe and 11 LaBr3:Ce detectors at IFIN-HH (Romania).

Probing isospin mixing with the giant dipole resonance in the 60Zn compound nucleus

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 32Si(28Si, X)60Zn*, E=86, 110 MeV; 32Si(30Si, X)62Zn*, E=75, 98 MeV; measured high-energy Eγ, Iγ using GALILEO array of 25 HPGe detectors and ten LaBr3(Ce) scintillators at the Tandem accelerator facility of INFN-Legnaro. 60,62Zn; deduced GDR parameters, Coulomb spreading widths, isospin mixing parameter at zero temperature and the isospin-symmetry-breaking correction for beta decay by analyzing experimental γ-spectra with statistical model calculations using a version of CASCADE code that included isospin formalism. Comparison of Coulomb spreading widths with the values for other mass regions deduced from GDR γ-decay measurements in other compound-nucleus reactions.

Comparison with previous experimental values, and spdf IBM and α-cluster model theoretical predictions. Comparison of experimental σ(θ) values with coupled-channel distorted-wave Born approximation (DWBA) calculations with CHUCK3 code. 186W, 232Th(p, t), E=24 MeV; measured E(t), I(t); deduced levels, used for calibration of levels in 240Pu.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 238,240Pu, 226,228,230,232Th, 232,234,238U, 224,226,228Ra; analyzed experimental excitation energy, B(E1), B(E2) and B(E3) values; deduced octupole correlations, effect of negative-parity single particle states and potential role of double-octupole or α-clustering states on enhanced B(E1).

Structure evolution and phase transition in odd-mass nuclei

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE Z=30-95; analyzed level structures from g9/2, h11/2, and i13/2 orbitals in odd-mass nuclei within a unified framework by empirical correlations between ratios of excitation energies in the odd-mass nuclei and their even-even core nuclei; discussed transitions between the decoupling and strong coupling schemes in i13/2 structures of N≈90 neutron-odd nuclei and h11/2 structures of N≈70 proton-odd nuclei, and correlations with critical shape phase transitions from vibrator to rotor. Particle-plus-rotor model, and limiting coupling schemes of weak coupling, decoupling, and strong coupling, and transitions between them.
