Structure of the low-lying states in 99, 101, 103, 105Pd

Half-lives were determined by centroid shift method, deconvolution method and differential decay curve method (on case of 103Pd experiment with plunger). Comparison with rigid triaxial rotor plus particle model (RTRPM) calculations. RoSphere array comprised of 8 HPGe and 11 LaBr3:Ce detectors at IFIN-HH (Romania).

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 58Ni(6Li, 2n)62Ga, E=22 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, nγ-coin, (2n)γ-coin, γ(θ) using ROSPHERE array with ten Compton-suppressed HPGe detectors and 11 LaBr3(Ce) detectors for γ rays, and two liquid scintillator neutron detector walls with 12 detectors each neutrons at the IFIN-HH 9-MV Tandem accelerator. 62Ga; deduced levels, J, π, first 2+ state, multipolarities. Comparison with beyond-mean-field complex excited Vampir variational model. Discussed Coulomb energy differences (CED), mirror energy differences (MED), triplet energy differences (TED) for A=62 triplet. 59Ni, 62Cu, 62Zn; observed γ rays.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 62Ge, 62Ga, 62Zn; calculated energies of low-lying 0+, 2+ and 4+ analog states, B(E2) for 62Zn, superallowed Fermi β decay strength distribution from 62Ga decay to 62Ge g.s., and compared with available experimental values.

Probing isospin mixing with the giant dipole resonance in the 60Zn compound nucleus

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 32Si(28Si, X)60Zn*, E=86, 110 MeV; 32Si(30Si, X)62Zn*, E=75, 98 MeV; measured high-energy Eγ, Iγ using GALILEO array of 25 HPGe detectors and ten LaBr3(Ce) scintillators at the Tandem accelerator facility of INFN-Legnaro. 60,62Zn; deduced GDR parameters, Coulomb spreading widths, isospin mixing parameter at zero temperature and the isospin-symmetry-breaking correction for beta decay by analyzing experimental γ-spectra with statistical model calculations using a version of CASCADE code that included isospin formalism. Comparison of Coulomb spreading widths with the values for other mass regions deduced from GDR γ-decay measurements in other compound-nucleus reactions.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 248Cm(52Cr, X)300120*, E=290, 304-MeV; 248Cm(54Cr, X)302120*, E=296 MeV; 232Th(68Zn, X)300120*, E=335 MeV; measured binary reaction products in coincidence by the double-arm time-of-flight spectrometer CORSET, the first two reactions using 248Cm target at the U-400 cyclotron facility of FLNR-Dubna, and the experiment with 232Th target at the University of Jyvaskyla K-130 cyclotron facility; deduced yield and TKE matrices of binary fragments as functions of mass and energy, capture cross sections as a function of effective fissility parameter, excitation energy of primary fragments as function of fragment mass, contributions of symmetric fragments to the capture cross sections, fusion probability as function of the mean fissility parameter, and production σ for the formation of Z=120 superheavy nucleus (SHN). 238U(64Ni, X)302120*, E=335 MeV; compared results of this experiment, reported in 2010Ko16, at Jyvaskyla with the data in the present experiments. 248Cm(54Cr, X) reaction determined to be the most favorable for the production of Z=120 element.

Photoneutron cross-section measurements in the 209Bi (γ, xn) reaction with a new method of direct neutron-multiplicity sorting

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 209Bi(γ, n), (γ, np), (γ, 2n), (γ, 2np), (γ, 3n), (γ, 3np), (γ, 4n), (γ, 4np), E=threshold-40 MeV; measured E(n), I(n), photoneutron σ(E) using quasimonochromatic laser Compton-scattering (LCS) γ-ray beams at the NewSUBARU synchrotron radiation facility at the University of Hyogo, and novel technique of direct neutron-multiplicity sorting method. Comparison with previous experimental data from Livermore and Saclay, and with bremsstrahlung data, and with theoretical calculations using the TALYS reaction code. Comparison with Hartree-Fock Bogoliubov plus quasiparticle random phase approximation (HFB+QRPA) with Gogny D1M interaction for both E1 and M1 components of the GDR. Discussed threshold behavior of photoneutron emission in terms of average neutron kinetic energy.
