Shape coexistence and collective low-spin states in 112, 114Sn studied with the (p, p'γ) Doppler-shift attenuation coincidence technique

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 112,114Sn(p, p'γ), E=8 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, pγ-, γγ-coin, Eγ(θ), level half-lives by DSAM using SONIC-HORUS combined spectroscopy setup at the Institute for Nuclear Physics of the University of Cologne. 112,114Sn; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities, mixing ratios, B(E2), B(E1) γ-decay branching ratios for low-spin states, shape coexistence in low-spin members of the proton 2p-2h intruder configurations, and candidates for 3-phonon and quadrupole-octupole coupled states. Comparison with previous experimental values, and predictions of the sd IBM-2 calculations. Comparison of B(E2) values with those in 108,110Pd, 116,118Xe. Systematics of low-lying single-particle states in A=111-125 odd-A Sn isotopes, 1-, 3- and 5- states and B(E1) for 1- states in A=112-124 even-A Sn isotopes.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 96Ru(p, p'), E=8.4, 7 MeV; measured Ep, Ip, proton angular distributions, Eγ, Iγ, pγ- and γγ-coin, γγ(θ) using YRAST ball spectrometer at WNSL-Yale accelerator facility, level half-lives by DSAM using HORUS γ-ray spectrometer at IKP-Cologne accelerator facility. 96Ru; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarity, mixing ratios, configuration, B(E2), B(M1), B(E1), one-phonon mixed-symmetry excitations of octupole and hexadecapole character, two-phonon mixed-symmetry quintuplet. Comparison with sdg-IBM-2 and shell-model calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 96Ru; calculated levels, J, π, B(M1), B(E2) using sdg-IBM-2 and shell-model. Comparison with experimental data.

Systematics of branching ratios for 2- states of Kπ=2- octupole-vibrational band in A=154-186 Gd, Dy, Er, Yb, Hf W nuclei. Comparison of level structure of 168Yb with IBM-spdf calculations.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 168Yb; calculated levels, J, K, π, bands, B(E1) using IBM-spdf. Comparison with experimental data.

Evidence for one-phonon mixed-symmetry character of the second 3(-) and 4+ states. Comparison with sdg-IBM-2 model calculations.
