Search for the origin of wobbling motion in the A ≈ 130 region: The case of 131Xe

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 130Te(α, 3nγ), E=38 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ). 131Xe; deduced levels, J, π, δ, mixing ratios, polarization asymmetries, γ-rays deexcitation from the oriented states (DCO) ratio, intruder νh11/2 band structure, rotational bands, yrast bands, signature splittings, high-spin states. Comparison to triaxial particle rotor model (TPRM) and triaxial projected shell model (TPSM) calculations. Systematics of the bands structure, signature splittings - 127Xe, 131Xe, 133Ba, 135Ce. No experimental signatures of the wobbling excitation were found in the study. Seven Compton-suppressed clover HPGe detectors of the Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) at K-130 cyclotron of the Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC, Kolkata).

β decay of 36Mg and 36Al: Identification of a β-decaying isomer in 36Al

RADIOACTIVITY 36Mg, 36Al(β-)[from 9Be(48Ca, X), E=140 MeV/nucleon for experiment at NSCL and 9Be(48Ca, X), E=172.3 MeV/nucleon for experiment at FRIB]; 36Al, 36mAl(β-)[from 36Mg(β-); measured Eγ, Iγ; deduced T1/2. 36Al; deduced levels, J, π, newly-observed β-decaying isomer, T1/2 of the isomer. 36Si; deduced levels, J, π. Comparison to shell model calculations performed with the FSU interaction using code CoSMo. For experiment at NSCL - CeBr3 based implantation detector with position-sensitive photomultiplier tube was surrounded by 16 segmented germanium detectors (SeGa) and 15 LaBr3 detectors. For experiment at FRIB - YSO scintillator based implantation detector segmented into 48x48 pixels was surrounded by 11 HPGe clover detectors and LaBr3 detectors from one side and the neutron detector array VANDLE from the other side.

Investigation of the low- and medium-spin level structure in 77As

Observed large signature splitting of the signature partner bands. Presented evidence for the possible onset of stapler like mechanism in the high-lying negative-parity dipole band. Comparison to shell-model (JUN45, jj44b interactions) and particle plus triaxial-rotor model (TPRM) calculations. Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) spectrometer comprising 6 Clover and 1 LEPS detectors at K-130 Cyclotron of the Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC, Kolkata).

Comparisons with large-scale shell-model calculations using the code NUSHELLX. Systematics of experimental energy differences for the lowest states in odd-N isotopes of Sn, Sb, Te and I.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 130,131,132,133,134I; calculated levels, J, π, probability of neutron hole occupancies in the νh11/2 orbital as a function of the total spin of negative parity states, and average spin contributions of proton and neutrons to the total spin of the negative parity states using large-scale shell-model calculations with the code NUSHELLX. Discussed effects of cluster shapes of 32S and 28Si in the GDR strength function at high angular momentum and temperature.

Total Routhian surface calculations using Strutinsky shell correction method and deformed Woods-Saxon potential.

Comparison with statistical model calculations, and different microscopic calculations such as exact pairing plus independent particle model at finite temperature (EP+IPM), Hartree-Fock plus BCS (HF+BCS), and Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov plus combinatorial method (HFBC).

Comparison with statistical model calculations using PACE code, and angular momentum distribution from the coupled channel code CCFULL.
