Clustering effects in 36Ar nuclei produced via the 24Mg + 12C reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(24Mg, X)36Ar, E=91.72 MeV; measured Eα, Iα, Ep, Ip, evaporation residues (ER), ER Time-of-Flight, (ER)α-coin; deduced spectra and angular distributions of outgoing particles. Comparison to statistical model, rotating liquid drop model and cranked cluster model predictions. Pointed out signature of the formation of a long-lived orbiting-like dinuclear system at high excitation energies (40-60 MeV) from light-particle emission studies of α-like nuclei. Ball of 8πLP consisting of 125 ΔE-E Si-CsI telescope coupled to an PPAC evaporation residue detector tandem accelerator of Laboratori Nazionli di Legnaro (LNL).

Established the excitation of pre-equilibrium GDR or the so-called dynamical dipole mode (DD) in a heavy system for a large range of impact parameters. Comparison to statistical model predictions. MEDEA BaF2 array and PPAC detectors at superconducting Cyclotron (INFN-LNS, Catania).

Data analyzed using dynamical model based on three-dimensional Langevin equations. Theoretical analysis using multidimensional stochastic approach coupled with a Hauser-Feshbach treatment of particle evaporation.
