Proton-3He elastic scattering at intermediate energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 3He(polarized p, p), E=65, 70 MeV; measured E(p), I(p), σ(θ), analyzing powers Ay(θ) of scattered protons using Grand Raiden spectrometer at RCNP, Osaka for E(p)=65 MeV, and using sets of counter telescopes of NaI(Tl) scintillators for E(p)=70 MeV at the Cyclotron Radioisotope Center (CYRIC), Tohoku University; deduced spin correlation coefficient. Comparison with results of previous experiments, and with rigorous four-nucleon scattering calculations based on realistic nuclear potentials and a model with Δ-isobar excitation.

Comparison with previous experimental results for half-lives and branching ratios for decay modes.

Analyzed TKE(230Pu); deduced T1/2 for 230Am, lower limit of β-delayed fission probability of 230Am. Systematics of β+-delayed fission probabilities for 230,232,234Am, 240,242,244,246,248Es, 236,238,240Bk nuclei. 230Am found to have the highest lower limit for β+-delayed fission probability so far among all the known nuclei decaying by this mode.
