First measurement of 30S + α resonant elastic scattering for the 30S(α, p) reaction rate

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 4H(30S, α), E(cm)=1.9-5.5 MeV, [30S secondary beam from 3He(28Si, 30S), E=7.3 MeV/nucleon]; measured Eα, Iα, differential σ(E) using an array of silicon strip detectors (SSDs), and parallel plate avalanche counters (PPACs) for monitoring the 30S beam, ΔE-E plot for light ion particle using the CNS Radioactive Ion Beam separator (CRIB) facility, University of Tokyo, and RIKEN. 34Ar; deduced levels above 11 MeV, α-resonances, J, π, α-widths, proton-width. R-matrix analysis. 30s(α, p), T=1-10 GK; deduced stellar reaction rate using new resonance data, and compared with statistical model (SM) calculations from NON-SMOKER code. Astrophysical impact on one-zone postprocessing type I x-ray burst (XRBs) calculations.
