Quadrupole collectivity in island-of-inversion nuclei 28, 30Ne and 34, 36Mg

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(28Ne, 28Ne), E=53.5 MeV/nucleon; 1H(30Ne, 30Ne), E=44.0 MeV/nucleon; 1H(32Mg, 32Mg), E=58.9 MeV/nucleon; 1H(34Mg, 34Mg), E=51.1 MeV/nucleon; 1H(36Mg, 36Mg), E=44.5 MeV/nucleon; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, magnetic rigidity, time of flight using accelerator complex, RIPS separator at RIBF-RIKEN facility. 28,30Ne, 32,34,36Mg; deduced levels, J, π, production σ for first 2+ states; deduced (p, p') deformation lengths and β2 deformation parameter, quadrupole collectivity around N=20 region. Systematics of deformation lengths in N=12-24 Mg, Ne and Si nuclei in the region of island-of inversion nuclei. Comparison with shell model calculations using AMPGCM and SDPF-M.

Continuum-discretized coupled-channel (CDCC) analysis of longitudinal momentum distributions. Riken Projectile Fragment Separator (RIPS). Comparison of inclusive removal cross sections with theoretical calculations using shell model spectroscopic factors and Glauber-model single-particle cross sections.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(9Be, X), (18C, X), (19C, X), (20C, X), E=40 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products on thick target using superconducting TOF spectrometer. 19C deduced neutron halo. 19,20C deduced density distribution, fragmentation σ, charge-pickup σ, neutron removal σ, total σ; calculated 19,20C density distribution using finite-range optical limit, Glauber model.
