Clustering effects in 36Ar nuclei produced via the 24Mg + 12C reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(24Mg, X)36Ar, E=91.72 MeV; measured Eα, Iα, Ep, Ip, evaporation residues (ER), ER Time-of-Flight, (ER)α-coin; deduced spectra and angular distributions of outgoing particles. Comparison to statistical model, rotating liquid drop model and cranked cluster model predictions. Pointed out signature of the formation of a long-lived orbiting-like dinuclear system at high excitation energies (40-60 MeV) from light-particle emission studies of α-like nuclei. Ball of 8πLP consisting of 125 ΔE-E Si-CsI telescope coupled to an PPAC evaporation residue detector tandem accelerator of Laboratori Nazionli di Legnaro (LNL).

Clustering effects in 48Cr composite nuclei produced via the 24Mg + 24Mg reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 24Mg(24Mg, X)48Cr*, E=91.72 MeV; measured α-particle energy spectra, α-evaporation residues, α-α and α-α-α correlations, time-of-flight spectra, angular distributions, using 8πLP apparatus at Laboratori Nazionali di Legnaro; deduced α-particle multiplicities. Comparison to statistical model predictions using Hauser-Feshbach formulation of the shell model in conjunction with the Monte Carlo method for normally deformed (ND) and highly deformed (HD) systems. Comparison with the predictions of the cranked cluster model.
