NUCLEAR REACTIONS H(29F, X)27O/28O, E=235 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products; deduced yields. The hydrogen target was surrounded by the MINOS Time Projection Chamber, SAMURAI spectrometer, RIKEN RI Beam Factory.

RADIOACTIVITY 28O(4n), 27O(3n); measured decay products, En, In; deduced decay energy spectra and schemes from the measured momenta using the invariant-mass technique, resonance parameters. Comparison with the large-scale shell-model calculations using the new chiral effective field theory (EEdf3) interaction.

Neutron capture cross sections of light neutron-rich nuclei relevant for r-process nucleosynthesis

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb, 12C(29Na, X), (30Na, X), (33Mg, X), (35Al, X), E=410-430 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 29,30Na, 33Mg, 35Al beams from fragmentation of 540 MeV/nucleon 40Ar beam, followed by separation of ions of interest using the FRS-ALADIN-LAND apparatus at GSI]; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, invariant mass spectra in coincidence with the sum energy of γ rays in different energy ranges using an array of 162 NaI(Tl) detectors for γ rays emitted from the excited core of the projectiles after Coulomb dissociation; deduced number of E1 type virtual photons from Coulomb, invariant mass spectra of breakup of incident beams into 28Na, 29Na, 32Mg and 34Al and one neutron in each case, and analyzed using direct breakup model. 29Na, 30Na, 33Mg, (γ, n), E*=2-16 MeV; 35Al(γ, n), E*=5-20 MeV, virtual photons from Coulomb breakup of incident beams; deduced photoabsorption σ(E) as function of excitation energy. 28,29Na, 32Mg, 34Al(n, γ), E<13 MeV; deduced neutron capture σ(E) using the photoabsorption cross sections. 28,29Na, 32Mg, 34Al(n, γ), T9=0.01-100; deduced astrophysical total reaction rates at the onset and at the end of the r-process. 14C(n, γ), E(cm)=10-1000 keV; analyzed previous experimental cross section data, and compared with theoretical calculations. 29,30Na, 33Mg, 35Al; deduced spectroscopic factors for the occupied orbitals of valence neutron(s) in the ground states from Coulomb breakup cross sections, and compiled previous experimental spectroscopic factors. Relevance to neutrino-driven wind model of core-collapse supernovae, and r-process nucleosynthesis.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 9Be(31Ar, X), E=620 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 31Ar beam from fragmentation of 885 MeV/nucleon 36Ar primary beam]; measured proton and heavy-ion spectra, (heavy ion)p- and (heavy ion)pp-coin (proton)(heavy ion)(θ) using double-sided silicon micro-strip detectors for protons and optical time projection chamber for stopped heavy ions at SIS-FRS facility of GSI, a pilot version of the EXPERT (EXotic Particle Emission and Radioactivity by Tracking) setup planned by the Super-FRS Experiment Collaboration of the FAIR project at GSI. 28,30Cl, 29,31Ar; deduced proton-unbound states, S(2p) for 29,31Ar, and S(p) for 28Cl. 28,30Cl; identified new isotopes, unbound to one-proton emission, deduced ground-state energies. Systematics of level energies, J, π in 28,29,30,31,32Cl. Systematics of odd-even staggering energies in 21,22,23Ne, 22,24,25,26,28,30Mg, 25,26Si, 28,29S, 23,25,27,29,31Al, 21,23,25,27,29Na, which are isotones of 29,30,31Ar. First measurement of the 96Ru(p, γ)97Rh cross section for the p process with a storage ring

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(96Ru, γ)97Rh, E=9, 10, 11 MeV/nucleon; measured particle spectra in different charge states, x-ray and γ spectra, σ(E) using stored heavy ions in storage ring ESR at GSI; deduced astrophysical S factors and stellar reaction rates over a range of T9=0.5-19. Comparison with predictions from standard NON-SMOKER code and TALYS-1.4 code using different γ-ray strength functions from HFB, Brink-Axel Lorentzian (BAL), and Kopecky-Uhl, and different density models of constant temperature (CT), BSFG, generalized superfluid (GS), and Hartree-Fock-Bogolyubov (HFB). Recommended REACLIB parameters for the reactivity of 96Ru(p, γ)97Rh, and 97Rh(γ, p)96Ru reactions. Relevance to p-process network calculations.
