Prompt-fission-neutron spectra in the 239Pu(n, f) reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 239Pu(n, F), E=0.7-700 MeV white pulsed neutron beam; measured E(n), I(n), neutron time-of-flight, fission fragments, (fission fragments)n-coin, prompt fission neutron spectrum (PFNS), and mean prompt fission neutron energy with respect to 252Cf(SF) using multiplate fission chamber coupled to the Chi-Nu liquid scintillator neutron detector array at the WNR facility of the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSC); deduced ratio of PFNS to a Maxwellian distribution, mean kinetic energy of PFN as a function of incident neutron energy, angular dependence. Comparison with theoretical predictions based on the Los Alamos model, ENDF/B-VIII.0 and JEFF3.3, and with previous experimental results.
