Three-body correlations in direct reactions: Example of 6Be populated in the (p, n) reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(6Li, 6Be), E=47 MeV/nucleon; measured Eα, Iα, E(p), I(p), αp- and pp-coin, p(θ) and α(θ), differential σ(E) of channels populating g.s. and first 2+ state in 6Be, angular kinetic energy distributions of 6Be decay using two annular telescopes of position-sensitive silicon detectors with CsI(Tl) crystal arrays for particle detection using the U-400M cyclotron and ACCULINNA facility at the FLNR-JINR facility. 6Be; deduced integral invariant mass spectrum, density matrix spin structure for the 2+ state, energy distributions for the α+p+p decay of the 6Be continuum. Monte Carlo simulations. Relevance to high-statistics few-body correlation data to extract detailed information on the reaction mechanism.

Interaction of 8He with 208Pb at near-barrier energies: 4He and 6He production

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(8He, 6He), (8He, α), (8He, 8He), E=16, 22 MeV; measured reaction products, and differential σ(θ) using GLORIA detector array of SPIRAL-GANIL facility; deduced σ(2n)/σ(1n) ratio. Comparison with optical model and DWBA calculations. Inferred dominant neutron-stripping mechanism.

Precise measurement of near-barrier 8He+ 208Pb elastic scattering: Comparison with 6He

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(8He, 8He), E=22 MeV, [secondary 8He beam from C(13C, X), E=75 MeV/nucleon primary reaction using SPIRAL2 facility at GANIL]; measured scattered particles and reaction fragments, and angular distributions using the Global Reaction Array (GLORIA) detection system; deduced optical model parameters using optical model analysis for data from the present experiment and those from previous 208Pb(6He, 6He), E=22 MeV reaction, much longer range absorption for 6He as compared to that for 8He.

Breakup and neutron-transfer effects on 6He+206Pb elastic scattering below the Coulomb barrier

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 206Pb(6He, 6He), [6He secondary beam from 7Li(p, 2p), E=30 MeV primary reaction], E=18 MeV; measured α and 6He spectra, σ(θ) for α particles, α-yields using the LEDA array of Si detectors at CRCLN facility in Belgium. Analysis of data by continuum-discretized coupled-channels (CDCC), DWBA, and coupled reaction channels (CRC) calculations, including breakup effects, one-neutron and two-neutron transfers.

Isovector soft dipole mode in 6Be

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(6Li, 6Be), E=47 MeV/nucleon; measured reaction products. 6Be; deduced σ(θ), J, π, population of continuum states by detecting α+p+p coincidences, negative parity states, isovector soft dipole mode associated with the 6Li ground state. Comparison with Monte-Carlo calculations.
