Three-body correlations in direct reactions: Example of 6Be populated in the (p, n) reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(6Li, 6Be), E=47 MeV/nucleon; measured Eα, Iα, E(p), I(p), αp- and pp-coin, p(θ) and α(θ), differential σ(E) of channels populating g.s. and first 2+ state in 6Be, angular kinetic energy distributions of 6Be decay using two annular telescopes of position-sensitive silicon detectors with CsI(Tl) crystal arrays for particle detection using the U-400M cyclotron and ACCULINNA facility at the FLNR-JINR facility. 6Be; deduced integral invariant mass spectrum, density matrix spin structure for the 2+ state, energy distributions for the α+p+p decay of the 6Be continuum. Monte Carlo simulations. Relevance to high-statistics few-body correlation data to extract detailed information on the reaction mechanism.

Three-body hyperspherical harmonic (HH) method. Comparison with experimental data.

Search for 2p decay of the first excited state of 17Ne

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(18Ne, d), E=35 MeV/nucleon, [18Ne secondary beam from 9Be(20Ne, X), E=53 MeV/nucleon primary reaction]; measured deuterons, dpp-coin, time-of-flight, energy loss, missing mass and excitation energy spectra of 17Ne at Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions at JINR-Dubna. 17Ne; deduced level, upper limit of 2p-decay branch (Γ2pγ) of the first excited state of 17Ne and comparison with theoretical predictions.

Electric dipole response of neutron-rich calcium isotopes in relativistic quasiparticle time blocking approximation

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 40,42,44,46,48,50,52,54Ca; calculated excitation spectra of collective vibrations (phonons) and phonon-nucleon coupling vertices for J≤6 and natural parity, E1 strengths, integrated dipole strength below 10 MeV and compared with that in Pb, Sn, and Ni isotopes, fraction of the energy-weighted sum rule (EWSR) RQTBA, transition densities for 48Ca; deduced dependence of pygmy dipole strength on the isospin asymmetry parameter. Covariant Lagrangian of quantum hydrodynamics with relativistic quasiparticle time blocking approximation (RQTBA), and relativistic quasiparticle random-phase approximation (RQRPA) calculations. Comparison with experimental data.

Anomalous population of 10He states in reactions with 11Li

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(11Li, 10He), E not given; calculated excitation functions for population of different states in 10He through proton knockout reaction; deduced superposition of 1-, 0+ and 2+ states rather than resonant 0+ ground state for the experimentally observed resonance at 1.2-1.5 MeV, with 1- state calculated as the lowest excitation in 10He, and its ground-state at approximately 2.1 MeV instead of 1.3 MeV. Discussed three-body correlations in 10He, α-knockout from 14Be, core-recoil effect, halo structure, and constraints on the spectrum of 9He. Sudden removal of proton and three-body model.
