Low-Z boundary of the N=88-0 shape phase transition: 148Ce near the critical point

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 235U(n, Fγ), E=cold neutrons from PF1B, ILL-Grenoble facility; measured Eγ, γγ-coin, half-lives of the first 2+ and 4+ levels in 148Ce by fast-timing technique using the EXILL-FATIMA array of eight EXOGAM clovers and 16 LaBr3(Ce) scintillators. 148Ce; deduced levels, B(E2) for the first 2+ 4+ states. Comparison with predictions of vibrator, rigid rotor, X(5) and X(5)-β8 models, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of E(first 4+)/E(first 2+) and energies of the yrast states for N=90 isotones 146Ba, 148Ce, 150Nd, 152Sm, 154Gd, 156Dy.

Entry-level spin distributions and relative γ-neutron branching ratios of samarium isotopes populated by the (p, t) reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 150,152,154Sm(p, t), E=25 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ), E(t), I(t), angular distribution of tritons, and tγ-coin using the Hyperion detector array consisting of STARS array of Si detectors for triton detection and 13 HPGe clovers for γ detection using enriched targets at the K150 cyclotron facility of Texas A and M university. 148,150,152Sm; deduced relative intensities of γ rays from low-lying levels, entry-level spin distributions, and relative average branching ratios for γ-rays above S(n). Comparison with calculated simulated γ spectra from natural-parity levels using DICEBOX and MCγ codes, and probability densities of entry level spins by modeling (p, t) reaction using PTCRUISER code.

Comparison with Interacting Boson model and Monte-Carlo shell-model calculations, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of B(E2) values for the first 2+, 4+ and 6+ states in 96,98,100,102,104,106Zr.
