The spectroscopic quadrupole moment of the 2+1 state of 12C: A benchmark of theoretical models

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 208Pb(12C, 12C'), E=47.65 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ. 12C; deduced γ-ray energies, quadrupole moments, B(E2). Comparison with state-of-the-art shell-model, mean-field, ab initio calculations, cluster-based and geometrical-like theories, which show varying degrees of emergent quadrupole collectivity. The jurogam array, JYFL accelerator laboratory at the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland.
