Reinterpretation of excited states in 212Po: Shell-model multiplets rather than α-cluster states

Comparisons with shell-model calculations, with structure of 148Gd, and with earlier experimental results. Discussed previous interpretation as α-cluster states.

Comparisons with large-scale shell-model calculations using the code NUSHELLX. Systematics of experimental energy differences for the lowest states in odd-N isotopes of Sn, Sb, Te and I.
