Level structures of 56, 58Ca cast doubt on a doubly magic 60Ca

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(57Sc, 2p)56Ca, E=209 MeV/nucleon; 1H(59Sc, 2p)58Ca, E=199 MeV/nucleon, [57,59Sc secondary beams from 9Be(70Zn, X), E=345 MeV/nucleon, followed by separation and identification of ions of interest using the BigRIPS separator at RIBF-RIKEN facility]; measured reaction residues of 56Ca and 58Ca through identification by the SAMURAI spectrometer, Doppler-corrected Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin using the DALI2+ array using MINOS liquid hydrogen target. 56,58Ca; deduced energies of the first 2+ levels. Comparison with shell-model calculations with the GXPF1B Hamiltonian in full pf model space, and the state-of-the-art ab initio approaches: VS-IMSRG method, and CC calculations. Systematics of energies of the first 2+ states and S(2n) from experiment (N=22-36) and theory in N=22-54 Ca isotopes.

Systematics of the excitation energies for the yrast states above I=7 in 70,72,74As. Positive-parity bands are interpreted as chiral doublet bands. Found experimental evidence of octupole correlations existence in 74As, similar to 73Br. Comparison to triaxial particle rotor model (TPRM) calculations. AFRODITE array consisting of 8 Compton suppressed clover detectors and 2 low-energy photon spectrometer (LEPS) detectors at separated Sector Cyclotron of iThemba LABS.

First study of excited states in the 63V nucleus, with its relevance to 'island of inversion' located below 68Ni.

Exotic nuclear shape due to cluster formation at high angular momentum

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(16O, X)28Si*,12C(20Ne, X)32S*, E not given; calculated density distributions using extended quantum molecular dynamics (EQMD) model, considering 12C as a triangle, 16O as a square, and 20Ne as a pentagonal. 28Si, 32S; calculated neutron and proton pairing gaps as functions of temperature and angular momenta within the finite-temperature BCS (FTBCS) theory; analyzed experimental data for giant dipole resonance (GDR) strength functions for Eγ=5 to 30 MeV, and compared with EQMD calculations, and with TSFM calculations with and without shell corrections. Discussed effects of cluster shapes of 32S and 28Si in the GDR strength function at high angular momentum and temperature.

Bayesian analysis of beta-delayed proton spectrum.

ATOMIC MASSES 73Rb, 73Sr; analyzed mass excesses by IMME analysis for A=73 isobars of 73Sr, 73Rb, 73Kr and 73Br; deduced mass excesses for 73Rb and 73Sr, and S(p) for 73Rb. Comparison with data in AME2016.

Nuclear moments of germanium isotopes near N = 40

NUCLEAR MOMENTS 69,71,73Ge; measured hyperfine structure spectra using collinear laser spectroscopy setup COLLAPS at ISOLDE-CERN; deduced magnetic electric hyperfine structure constants, magnetic dipole moment μ, and electric quadrupole moment Q, with the hyperfine fields for the atomic levels calculated using state-of-the-art atomic relativistic Fock-space coupled-cluster method. Comparison with previous experimental results, and with large-scale shell-model calculations using JUN45 interaction, suggesting mixed wave-function configurations. Systematics of low-energy levels, g factors and quadrupole moments of 67,69,71,73Zn, 69,71,73,75Ge, 73Se. 69,71,73Ge isotopes produced in Zr(p, X), E=1.4 GeV reaction, followed by acceleration of germanium ions to 50 keV, and mass separation using the high-resolution isotope separator (HRS), and finally bunched in a gas-filled linear Paul trap (ISCOOL).

Comparison with theoretical calculations using PLATYPUS model for the role of complete fusion (CF) following breakup, and with potential model calculation for the role of direct CF without breakup.
