Reinterpretation of excited states in 212Po: Shell-model multiplets rather than α-cluster states

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(208Pb, 212Po)8Be, E=1187 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, (particle)γγ-coin, γγ(linear polarization) using 35 36-fold segmented AGATA crystals arranged in 12 triple clusters for γ detection and double-sided silicon strip detector (DSSSD) for particle detection. 212Po; deduced levels, J, π, multipolarities, configurations, exclusive reaction cross sections. Comparisons with shell-model calculations, with structure of 148Gd, and with earlier experimental results. Discussed previous interpretation as α-cluster states.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 212Po; calculated levels, J, π, configurations, γ-ray branching ratios, B(M1), B(E2), wave-function decomposition for the yrast and yrare states using shell model with KHPE and H208 interactions. Comparison with experimental data.

Fast-neutron-induced fission cross section of 242Pu measured at the neutron time-of-flight facility ELBE

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 242Pu(n, F), E=0.5-10 MeV; measured fission fragments, neutron time of flight, σ(E) relative to 235U(n, F), σ(E) using parallel plate fission ionization chamber at nELBE facility at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR); deduced energy to time-of-flight-correlation, correction factor for neutron scattering, ratio of neutron-induced and SF rate with and without correction for neutron scattering. GEANT4, MCNP6, and FLUKA2011 for neutron transport simulations. Comparison with previous measurements in EXFOR database, evaluated data in ENDF/B-VIII.0 and JEFF-3.3, and theoretical calculations using TALYS-1.8 and EMPIRE-3.2.

RADIOACTIVITY 242Pu(SF); analyzed data on partial half-life for SF decay; deduced T1/2. Comparison with previous experimental values, and evaluated data.

β decay of 127Cd and excited states in 127In

RADIOACTIVITY 127,127mCd(β-)[from 238U(p, F) followed by high-resolution mass separation in JYFL Penning trap]; measured β, Eγ, Iγ, βγγ- and γγ-coin, half-lives of 127Cd g.s. and isomer, isomeric ratios using double-sided-silicon-strip detectors and HPGe detectors of the TASISpec decay station at IGISOL, University of Jyvaskyla. 127In; deduced levels, J, π, β feedings, logft values, Gamow-Teller strength distributions, configurations. Comparison with large-scale shell model calculations, and with previous experimental results.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 125,127,129Cd, 125,127,129In; calculated levels, J, π, sums of partitions of selected wave functions using large-scale shell-model with jj45 and NA-14 interactions, and compared with experimental data.

GEANT4 simulations. 209Rn; deduced levels, α feedings, γ-ray branching ratios, multipolarity. Comparison with evaluated data, and Nilsson-Strutinsky and shell-model calculations. 209Rn; calculated levels, J, π using shell model with pbpop interaction, total energy surface in (ϵ2, ϵ4) plane, and compared with experimental data, and other theoretical calculations.
