NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C(16O, γ)28Si, E=15.7 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, (28Si)γ-coin, γ-ray angular distributions, radiative capture and fusion cross sections using ISAC-I accelerator, BGO γ detector array and DRAGON electromagnetic spectrometer at TRIUMF facility; deduced branching ratio versus excitation energy for the 2+ entrance state, enhancement of M1 transitions to the 1+ and 2+ states at 11.45 MeV and 11.43 MeV, and J(J+1) systematics. Comparisons with Monte-Carlo GEANT3 simulations and previous experimental studies.
