Experimental study of the nature of the 1- and 2- excited states in 10Be using the 11Be(p, d) reaction in inverse kinematics

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(11Be, d)10Be, (11Be, p), (11Be, p'), E=9.93 MeV/nucleon, [secondary 11Be beam from Ta(p, X), E=479 MeV primary reaction at TRIUMF cyclotron, followed by extraction of 11Be using Resonant Ionization Laser Ion Source (TRILIS) and accelerated through the ISAC-I and ISAC-II accelerators]; measured E(d), I(d), E(p), I(p), elastic and inelastic σ(θ) of outgoing protons, σ(θ) for deuterons using silicon telescopes, Eγ, Iγ, dγ-coin using TIGRESS array of 12 HPGe detectors for γ detection. 10Be; deduced levels, spectroscopic factors for 5960, 1- and 6263, 2- levels, mixed configurations with halo and cluster structures. Comparison of spectroscopic factors with predictions of shell model. Reaction kinematics and angular distributions analyzed using two versions of transfer reaction model considering one-step and two-step processes. Comparison with previous experimental results from RCNP and ISOLDE-CERN.

Breakup mechanisms in the 6He + 64Zn reaction at near-barrier energies

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 64Zn(α, α), E=17.4 MeV; measured scattered α particles, differential σ(θ) using LEDA-type detectors and single-sided silicon strip detectors for particle detection at the Louvain la Neuve (Belgium) cyclotron facility; analyzed present data and previous experimental data at E(α)=13.2 MeV by optical model calculations based on the Sao Paulo potential. 64Zn(6He, 6He), (6He, α), E=14.85, 17.9 MeV; measured scattered particles, differential σ(θ) for outgoing 6He and α particles, the latter from 2n transfer process; analyzed present data and previous experimental data at E(6He)=9.8 and 13.5 MeV by optical model calculations, coupled-reaction-channel (CRC), continuum-discretized coupled channel (CDCC), and DWBA inclusive-breakup models.

Observation of 15N α resonant structures in 19F using the thick target in inverse kinematics scattering method

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 4He(15N, α), E=40.23 MeV; measured Eα, Iα, differential σ(θ) using ΔE-E silicon telescopes for α detection and surface barrier detectors for 15N-like recoils at the LNL-Catania Tandem accelerator facility. 19F; deduced levels, resonances, J, π, α-widths, proton widths and potential α-cluster states using R-matrix analysis using AZURE2 code. Comparison with previous experimental data, and with literature data for mirror nucleus 19Ne. Relevance to models of stars in different evolutionary stages, such as the asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars asymptotic giant branch (AGB).

Comparison with previous experimental results, and with potential model calculation using the well-known 16O+α cluster band configurations. Relevance to α branching ratio in the astrophysical reaction rate for high-spin near-threshold resonances.

Re-evaluation of some previously published sub-barrier fusion data to demonstrate the possibility of misinterpretations of derived excitation functions. Discussed analysis problems in associating measured average cross-sections with the correct beam energy.
