Systematics of measured B(E2) for first 2+ state in even-even Z=12 isotopes from N=16 to N=24, and those of theoretical B(E2) from N=16 to N=28.

Comparison with B(E2) values for the first 2+ and excited 0+ states in 30,32Mg and 34Si. New method to study isomeric states decaying in-flight. Discussed collective behavior of the first excited 0+ state in 32Mg. 31Mg; deduced levels, isomer half-life.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 64Ni(58Ni, X), E(cm)=86.92, 87.44, 87.97, 88.50, 89.02, 89.76, 90.75, 92.28, 94.59, 99.26, 104.31 MeV; measured evaporation residues using two microchannel-plate detectors, a transverse-field ionization chamber (IC), and a thick Si detector at the XTU Tandem Accelerator of INFN-LNL, Legnaro; deduced fusion σ(E) around or below Coulomb barrier, S-factors. Comparison with coupled channels calculations using CCFULL code, and with data for 64Ni+64Ni and 40Ca+96Zr systems. Discussed impact of inelastic and transfer channels on fusion, and conclude that no hindrance effect observed, effectively counterbalancing the Pauli repulsion.

Comparison with shell-model and quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA) calculations. Z=26-41, N=75-93; calculated electron capture rates for 78 nuclides near N=50 and Z=28 (see 2018Ti02) using quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA), with Jπ assignments made for ground states of some nuclides using Gallagher-Moszkowski (GM) rule. Relevance to astrophysical simulations of core-collapse supernovae.

Calculated neutron occupation numbers for g9/2 and d5/2 orbitals for lowest 11/2- states in Co isotopes and first 2+ states in Ni and Fe isotopes. Shell-model calculations.
