Nuclear fusion induced by x rays in a crystal

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 6Li, 2H(γ, 8Be), E=10-90 keV; measured d+6Li to 8Be nuclear fusion events using lithium deuteride crystal and polymer track detectors CR-39, crystal containing both 6Li and 7Li. Comparison with theoretical calculations. Possible relevance to rates of various nuclear reactions at extremely low energies, not accessible in accelerator experiments.
