NUCLEAR REACTIONS 1H(polarized γ, γ')p, E=0.85-1.25 GeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, E(p), spectra of missing energy, beam asymmetry Σ for the mixture of Compton and π0 events using bismuth germanate (BGO) ball for γ rays and planar multiwire chambers, a double hodoscope scintillator wall, and a lead-scintillator time-of-flight wall for scattered protons at ESRF-Grenoble facility; deduced two narrow structures at Eγ=1.036 and Eγ=1.119 GeV in Compton scattering off the proton.
