Electric and magnetic dipole strength in 66Zn

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 66Zn(γ, γ'), (polarized γ, γ'), E=7.5, 13.4, MeV unpolarized bremsstrahlung from γELBE facility, and E=4.3, 4.4, 4.55, 4.7, 4.85, 5.0, 5.15, 5.3, 5.45, 5.6, 5.75, 5.9, 6.1, 6.3, 6.5, 6.7, 6.9, 7.1, 7.3, 7.5, 7.7, 7.9, 8.15, 8.4, 8.65, 8.9, 9.15, 9.4, 9.65, 9.9 MeV quasimonoenergetic and linearly polarized photon beams from HIγS facility; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ(θ), γ(linear polarization) using four escape-suppressed HPGe detectors at γELBE and using two HPGe detectors at HIγS. 66Zn; deduced 128 J=1 levels up to 11.02 MeV excitation, pygmy dipole resonances (PDR), J, π, energy-integrated scattering σ, Γ02/Γ, photoabsorption σ, photon strength functions, B(M1). Comparison of measured photoabsorption cross sections with experimental values in 54Fe(γ, γ'), and with calculations using TALYS code as in the 2019 library, and from the three Lorentz functions (TLO). Comparison of B(M1) strengths with shell-model calculations using the jj44c Hamiltonian. Comparison of deduced photon strength functions with those from 64Ni(p, p'γ).

Measurement of the 2H(p, γ)3He S factor at 265-1094 keV

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 2H(p, γ)3He, E=400-1650 keV from the 3-MV Tandetron accelerator at Dresden; measured Eγ, Iγ using two HPGe detectors, one surrounded by BGO escape-suppression shield; deduced astrophysical S factors at 14 different incident proton energies, corrected for the assumed ab initio angular distributions of γ rays. 2H(p, γ)3He, E=1-1650 keV; analyzed S-factor data from the present experiment together with previous measurements in other energy regions, and compared with theoretical predictions. Relevance to deuterium abundance in big bang nucleosynthesis.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 120Sn(γ, γ'), E=9.5 MeV bremsstrahlung beam; measured Eγ, Iγ, γ(θ) using four HPGe detectors at the γELBE facility of Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf. 120Sn; deduced levels, pygmy dipole resonances (PDR), J, π, Γ02/Γ, photoabsorption σ(Eγ), B(E1), Thomas-Reiche-Kuhn sum rule using statistical model with constant-temperature level density. Comparison with experimental results for 120Sn(p, p').

Comparison with previous experimental values. 205Pb(n, γ), E=1 keV-5 MeV; calculated σ(E) using the PSF deduced from the photonuclear data, and compared with the evaluation of TENDL-2015 and JEFF-3.2. 205Pb; calculated yield in subcritical accelerator driven reactor using statistical code CCONE. Systematics of photoabsorption σ(E) and dipole strength functions in 206Pb and 208Pb.
