Measurement of the 72Ge (n, γ) cross section over a wide neutron energy range at the CERN n_TOF facility

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 72Ge(n, γ), E=0.010-300 keV; measured prompt γ rays using four liquid scintillation detectors, and neutrons using silicon detectors at the CERN n_TOF facility; deduced neutron resonances and their kernels in the range of 250 eV to 42.75 keV, Maxwellian-averaged cross sections (MACS) from kT=5 to 100 keV, and compared with data in the KADoNiS-v1.0 database. R-matrix analysis of neutron resonances using SAMMY code, and compared with yields calculated from resonance parameters listed in the ENDF/B-VIII.0 evaluation. Relevance to calculations of abundances produced in the weak s-process.

Resonance triplet at Ea=4.5 MeV in the 40Ca(α, γ)44Ti reaction

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 40Ca(α, γ), E=4.5 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, yields. 44Ti; deduced levels, triplet of resonances near 4.5 MeV, resonance strengths, γ-decay branching ratios, α widths, astrophysical reaction rates. Comparison with previous data. Target composition determined by elastic recoil detection (ERD) method and by nuclear reactions.
