NUCLEAR REACTIONS 12C, 28Si, 40Ca, 90Zr, 208Pb(e, e), E=0.57-3 GeV; analyzed beam-normal single-spin asymmetry (BNSSA) observed in the PREX collaboration for 208Pb, called the PREX puzzle using plane-wave formalism and Compton scattering cross section data for 12C, 27Al, 49Ti, 64Cu, 109Ag and 197Au; deduced average values and corresponding theoretical uncertainties for the Compton slope parameter; predicted kinematical conditions of soon-to-be published measurements by the PREX-II, CREX, and Qweak collaborations at Jefferson Lab.

Relevance to experiments at the upcoming MESA facility in Mainz, to quantification of generic isospin symmetry-breaking (ISB) effects, test of unitarity of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix, and new physics searches with superallowed β decays.
