Beam-normal single-spin asymmetry in elastic scattering of electrons from a spin-0 nucleus

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹²C, ²⁸Si, ⁴⁰Ca, ⁹⁰Zr, ²⁰⁸Pb(e, e), E=0.57-3 GeV; analyzed beam-normal single-spin asymmetry (BNSSA) observed in the PREX collaboration for ²⁰⁸Pb, called the PREX puzzle using plane-wave formalism and Compton scattering cross section data for ¹²C, ²⁷Al, ⁴⁹Ti, ⁶⁴Cu, ¹⁰⁹Ag and ¹⁹⁷Au; deduced average values and corresponding theoretical uncertainties for the Compton slope parameter; predicted kinematical conditions of soon-to-be published measurements by the PREX-II, CREX, and Qweak collaborations at Jefferson Lab.

Weak charge and weak radius of ¹²C

NUCLEAR REACTIONS ¹²C(e, e), E=155 MeV; calculated parity-violating (PV) asymmetry; deduced weak charge, weak radius and neutron skin of ¹²C nucleus. Parity-violating electron scattering (PVEC), based on model-independent assessment of the uncertainties. Relevance to experiments at the upcoming MESA facility in Mainz, to quantification of generic isospin symmetry-breaking (ISB) effects, test of unitarity of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix, and new physics searches with superallowed β decays.
