Precision measurements of the charge radii of potassium isotopes

Radium isotopes produced by impinging 1.4-GeV protons on a thick uranium-carbide target followed by surface and multistep laser resonance ionization using RILIS ion source, and mass separation with the high resolution separator, then cooled and bunched using the ISOLDE linear Paul trap, ISCOOL. Comparison with previous experimental values. Systematics of intrinsic quadrupole moments for N=130-146 U, Th, Ra and Rn isotopes, and those of odd-even staggering for N=132-144 Fr and Ra isotopes.

Beams of Ga isotopes produced in U(n, F), with neutrons from W(p, X), E=1.4 GeV at ISOLDE-CERN, followed by laser ionization using the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source (RILIS), and mass separation by using the high-resolution mass separator and subsequent cooling and bunching using the ISOLDE cooler buncher (ISCOOL).
