General Comments:

1960Dr03: 56Cr produced and identified in bombardment of natural chromium metal electroplated on a gold backing with 2.7-2.9 MeV tritons from Los Alamos accelerator, followed by chemical separation of 56Cr, identified by growth of 2.6H 56Mn activity. Measured Eγ, Iγ, βγ-coin, T1/2 of decay of 56Cr to 56Mn. Since the 1960Dr03 work, no other investigation of half-life of 56Cr or its decay appears to have been made.

Earlier attempts by 1956Jo32, by L.p. Roy and L. Yaffe (Can. Jour. Chem. 35, 156 (1957), and by 1960Eh04 were unsuccessful to identify 56Cr activity.

Mass measurement: 2005Gu27

Other reactions:

1992Wa11: 56Fe(π-+),E=295 MeV: measured pions, σ(θ); deduced double giant dipole resonance.

1987Gi04: 56Fe(π-+),E=100-292 MeV: measured σ; deduced nonanalog and double analog transitions.

1982Se09, 1981Pr02, 1978De30: 59Co(π-,pd),E at rest: measured σ(θ), (particle)(particle)-coin; deduced yields, and missing mass spectra.
