Recoil-distance Doppler shift technique. Comparison to mapped-IBM calculation based on a microscopic energy density functional, to the values obtained with Wilets-Jean γ-soft model and to previous experimental data. Results indicate γ-softness and point on traixilaity in 104,106Ru. Cologne plunger device in conjunction with 11 HPGe detectors arranged in backward and forward rings combined with 6 PIN diodes for detecting the backscattered beam-like light recoiling fragments 10 MV FN-Tandem accelerator.

Comparison with previous available experimental results, and with IBM-1 model calculations. Experimental and theoretical (by IBM-1 model with SU(3) and X(5) limits) systematics of excitation energies, deformation parameter β, quadrupole moment, B(E2), E(first 4+)/E(first 2+), B(E2)(first 4+)/B(E2)(first 2+) for 168,170,172,174,176,178,180,182,184,186W.
