X-ray-γ fast-timing lifetime measurement of the 6+1 state in 206Po

RADIOACTIVITY 206Po(IT)[from successive EC decay of 206Rn(EC)-206At(EC) produced in 194Pt(16O, 4n)206Rn, E=84 MeV]; measured X-rays, Eγ, Iγ, (X-rays)γ-coin, γγγ-coin. 206Po; deduced levels, J, π, T1/2 of the 4+ and 6+ excited states, B(E2). Lifetimes extracted via the generalized centroid difference (GCD) method. Systematics of the B(E2) for even-even Po isotopes with N<126. HORUS spectrometer consisting of 8 coaxial HPGe and 11 LaBr detectors at the FN-Tandem facility (Institute for Nuclear Physics, University of Cologne).

New aspects of the low-energy structure of 211At

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 209Bi(16O, 14C)211At, E=84 MeV; measured recoiling beam-like nuclei, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin. 211At; deduced levels, J, π, high-spin states, T1/2 of the excited states, B(E2). Recoil-distance Doppler shift and the Doppler-shift attenuation methods. Comparison to two shell-model calculations, one using the Kuo-Herling residual interaction and the other using a single-j approximation for protons in the 0h9/2 orbital. Comparison to other experimental data. Cologne plunger device with 11 HPGe detectors positioned in two rings at FN-Tandem accelerator (University of Cologne).

Lifetimes obtained with recoil-distance Doppler-shift (RDDS) method. Shell-model calculations performed using H208 and KHPE interaction. Cologne plunger device, array of 11 HPGe detectors and array of 6 photovoltaic pin-diodes at FN-TANDEM accelerator (University of Cologne).

Tests of collectivity in 98Zr by absolute transition rates

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 96Zr(18O, 16O)98Zr, E=50 MeV; measured recoiling light fragments using an array of six solar cells, Eγ, Iγ, (particle)γ-coin, level half-lives by Doppler-shift recoil-distance (RDDS) method and analysis by differential decay curve method (DDCM) using an array of 11 HPGe detectors and Cologne Plunger device at the Cologne 10 MV FN Tandem accelerator. 98Zr; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2). Comparison with Monte Carlo shell model (MCSM), and interacting boson model with configuration mixing (IBM-CM) calculations, and with previous experimental data. Systematics of energies and B(E2) values of the first 2+ states in 90,92,94,96,98,100Sr, 92,94,96,98,100,102,104,106Zr.

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 124Sn(13C, X)133Ba/134Ba, E=55 MeV from FN tandem accelerator at Cologne; 208Pb(136Xe, X)134Ba, E=6.84 MeV/nucleon from PIAVE+ALPI accelerator complex at LNL-Legnaro; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, γγ(θ), half-lives of isomers by γγ(t) using eight HPGe and 12 LaBr3(ce) detectors at Cologne, and magnetic spectrometer PRISMA with AGATA array at Legnaro. 133,134Ba; deduced high-spin levels, isomers, J, π, multipolarities, alignments, bands, backbending, configurations, B(E1), B(E2). Comparison with shell-model calculations for 134Ba, and with previous experimental results. Systematics of positive- and negative-parity yrast states in N=78 nuclei: 130Te, 132Xe, 134Ba, 136Ce, 138Nd, 140Sm, 142Gd, and Z=56 nuclei: 126,128,130,132,134,136,138Ba.

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 134Ba; calculated levels, J, π using GCN50:82, SN100PN, SNV, PQM130, and realistic SM interactions. Comparison with experimental data.

Lifetimes of the 4+1 states of 206Po and 204Po: A study of the transition from noncollective seniority-like mode to collectivity

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 197Au(11B, 4n)204Po, E=55 MeV; 198Pt(12C, 4n)206Po, E=65 MeV; measured Eγ, Iγ, γγ-coin, level half-lives by γγ(t) fast timing technique using the HORUS spectrometer of the FN Tandem facility at the University of Cologne. 204,206Po; deduced levels, J, π, B(E2) for the first 4+ states in both the isotopes, and for the first 2+ in 204Po, configurations; discussed transition from single-particle seniority like mode to collective mode. Comparison with two-state mixing calculations. Systematics of energies, R4/2 ratios, B(E2) and magnetic moments for the yrast levels in 200,202,204,206,208,210Po.
