New collective structures in 179Au and their implications for the triaxial deformation of the 178Pt core

NUCLEAR STRUCTURE 100Ru(82Kr, 2np)179Au, E=352 MeV; measured reaction products, Iγ, Eγ, γγ-coin, γγγ-coin, particleγ-coin. 179Au; deduced levels, J, π, δ, high-spin states, bands structure, rotational bands, configurations, T1/2 of newly discovered 1743-keV isomeric state; calculated levels, J, π, deformation parameters. Particle-plus-triaxial-rotor model (PTRM) calculations. Suggested strong triaxial deformation of proton-intruder states. RITU gas-filled separator coupled to JUROGAM-II array composed of 10 Eurogam Phase I type coaxial and 24 Euroball clover Ge detectors arranged into three rings and equipped with active BGO Compton-suppression shields. Beam from K130 cyclotron at Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Jyvaskyla.

De-excitation of the strongly coupled band in 177Au and implications for core intruder configurations in the light Hg isotopes

NUCLEAR REACTIONS 92Mo(88Sr, 2np), E=399 MeV; measured reaction products, Eγ, Iγ, (ion implants)γ-coin, γγ-coin, γγ(θ)(DCO), α-decay tagging method using Jurogam-II array, GREAT spectrometer, and RITU gas-filled separator at the K=130 MeV cyclotron facility of the University of Jyvaskyla. 177Au; deduced high-spin levels, conversion coefficients, multipolarity, J, π, bands, configuration. Comparisons with cranked Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) calculations based on Skyrme energy functionals, and with the structures of 187Au and 178Hg nuclei.
